Synopsis
Noel hates Christmas. Her parents are divorced and her dad is always super busy. None of her friends ever want to hang out either so she’s always alone and depressed. This year, however, when she returns to her Yokohama home, she discovers it’s been taken over by “Santa Company.” Getting to know some of the other kids working for Santa, taking the exam, and going on adventures delivering presents, Noel discovers the true meaning of work and Christmas too.
Background
Santa Company: Christmas no Himitsu is an expanded feature length version of Kenji Sato’s 2014 short. Created in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Japan/Finland relations, the feature length version features additional scenes expanding the original story. Voice actors Kana Hanazawa and Yusuke Kondo replace original leads Ayumi Fujimura and Hiroki Touchi, respectively.
Characters
Noel White (Voiced by: Kana Hanazawa)
Noel White is a naive young woman who finds Christmas depressing because she often has to spend it alone. After finding herself mixed up with Santa Company she gets to know Bell and the others and discovers a new side to the holiday.
Bell Crystal (Voiced by: Yuki Kaji)
Bell Crystal is a Tonttu working for Santa delivering presents with the reindeer and the other kids. He has the courage to stand up to anyone and can sometimes be impulsive.
Mint Rondo (Voiced by: Haruka Tomatsu)
Mint Rondo is a Tonttu with the Present Department preparing and selling presents all over the world. She is kind and invites Noel to come work in the Present Department with her.
Thomas Dow (Voiced by: Rie Kugimiya)
Thomas Dow is a Tonttu with the Reindeer Department. He is also an eminent scientist and is training reindeer and working on a mapping app to make sure presents are properly delivered. Tomas is a little indecisive.
Pedro Rondo (Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai)
Pedro Rondo is the youngest section chief with Santa’s SSS bodyguard. The brother of Mint, Pedro previously worked with Bell delivering presents but was injured in an incident the previous year.
Nicolas White (Voiced by: Yusuke Kondo)
Nicolas White is the head of the Presents Department and absolutely loves Christmas. He's a bit of a dandy and usually very nice but can be strict at work.
Rudolph III (Voiced by: Yuichi Karasuma)
Rudolph III is a descendent of the famous reindeer from the songs! He even has the red nose to prove it. He’s been kind of moody ever since a traumatic incident and is also a bit superficial.
Kara
Kara is a mysterious old man who fell out of his sled and became separated from his friends but ends up helping Noel. He is very fond of Rudolph III and seems to have something to do with Santa Company.
