Petit Eva: Evangelion@School is a super cute deformed parody-style manga based on the Evangelion anime series. The manga was illustrated by Ryusuke Hamamoto and Maki Ozora and first published by Kadokawa Shoten in Shonen Ace. Petit Eva consisted of 3 volumes and ran from May 26, 2007 to September 26, 2009. In addition to the manga, 24 ONA episodes about 3 minutes long was created and directed by Shunichiro Miki and Hiroaki Sakurai.
Plot
The Petit Eva story starts in Tokyo-3 with the main characters of the Evangelion series Shinji Ikari and Asuka Langley Soryu as everyday school kids attending junior highschool. In addition to these characters are the 3 Rei Ayanami sisters, Unit-01 (Evancho) and Jet Alone (J.A. Chan). Twisting the plot further, Misato Katsuragi is the class teacher and NERV Commander Gendo Ikari is the principal of the school. The story is a light-hearted, comedic and complete alternate universe to the original anime series.

Shinji Ikari
A second year student that often hangs around with the loud and pushy Asuka and the 3 Rei sisters. He is the only male of the group but in the manga ends up being the victim of events.Asuka Langley Soryu
Shinji’s childhood friend and is a whirlwind of emotions. One second she would be kind to Shinji, and the next, she would be teasing and scolding him. Asuka hates to lose, especially to the Rei sisters in any kind of sports game.Rei Ayanami 01
The first and oldest sister of the 3 Rei sisters. She is great at everything and is a quiet but very smart girl.Rei Ayanami 02

Another reincarnation of a mecha robot from the anime series. Jet Alone or J.A. Chan is an android who is quiet and keeps to herself.

ONA - Original Net Animation
In addition to the manga, 24 ONA episodes about 3 minutes long was created and directed by Shunichiro Miki and Hiroaki Sakurai. The episodes were released as an ONA on March 20, 2007, to March 11, 2009.
The ONA series was originally directed by Shunichiro Miki and produced by Kanaban Graphics. However, from the 10th episode, the series changed production to Xebec and was directed by Hiroaka Sakurai.
ONA Example
The Petit Eva is a twisted parody of Evangelion series. The first ONA in the series starts with Shinji and Evancho (Evangelion Unit 01) sitting down together to each lunch. Shinji notices that being a cyborg, Evancho’s lunch box contains a bunch of batteries. When Evancho has a peak at Shinji’s lunch, he gives Evancho a piece from his lunch box. In return Evancho gives Shinji batteries. Being polite, Shinji swallows the battery and in the end tricked by Evancho to switch lunch boxes completely. Resulting in Shinji having a few painful trips to the bathroom.
Petit Eva Video Game
Puchi Eva: Evangelion @ Game is a video game that is based off this manga. It was published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and released for the Nintendo DS on March 20th, 2008. The game features all the characters from the manga and is mainly played through a variety of mini-games that are all categorized into different months in the year. Each month and each character has specific mini games to play and complete, with four kinds of different gameplay.
Petit Eva Video Gameplay
The player must clear a certain number of mini games collecting “Treasure” that are awarded when completing a game. These Treasures are collectible items that unlock references or cameos for other characters in the series.
Point and Click Adventure: The player is given a scenario and a specific goal that they must reach to complete the game. These goals can be completed by pointing and clicking characters and objects in a specific order.
Puzzles: The player has to arrange objects in a specific way in order to solve a given puzzle.
Scrolling Action: These games involve getting a specific character or group of characters across a road or other path safely using the camera slide. The player must safely navigate the character through avoiding obstacles.
Heart to Heart: During the game, characters will approach Shinji and the player must make a response that would make that character happy. The happier the character is the higher Shinji’s ‘heart meter’ will rise.
