A Look at Lancer (Fate) Figures

When asked which will win in a battle, a Lancer-class Servant or a Saber-class Servant, fans will generally answer that the Saber Servant will. That’s because the rules of the Nasuverse originally dictated that Sabers are the top tier warriors in a Holy Grail War, and Lancers fall somewhere below that. But from what we’ve seen in Fate media like Fate/stay night and Fate/Apocrypha, we feel that claim is a little inaccurate. On multiple occasions, the Lancer Cu Chulainn proves he could go toe-to-toe and end a fight with Saber Artoria Pendragon in a draw. Similarly, Lancer of Red, Karna, proves that he’s a match for Saber of Black, Siegfried. Lancers are badass and versatile. They tend to be extremely agile with a great reach in close quarters combat. We believe they can come out on top in a Holy Grail War, it just depends on how the scenario is written. That’s why we salute Lancers, and we’re happy to highlight some of them here in this article about collectible figures found on the TOM Shop! Usually in these articles, we choose three figures that catch our eye the most and go over what we love about them. But this time around, we were overwhelmed by the variation of Lancer Servants that have been celebrated as great figures to display on your shelf. So we’re going to talk about SIX different figures. Enough intro, let’s dive right into these goodies!

Fate/Grand Order Lancer/Cu Chulainn 1/8 Scale Figure
We would be remiss were we not to place the OG Lancer-class Servant, Cu Chulainn, at the beginning of our list. If you’ve been following the Fate franchise from the beginning, this character may be the one that comes to mind first when you hear the word Lancer. This figure of Lancer comes from Fate/Grand Order, and his look seems a bit updated from the way we first saw him back in 2005. But as usual, Cu Chulainn’s outfit is sleek and form fitting, allowing him to leap, somersault, and do all kinds of tricks against his opponent. With Gae Bolg, he’s a lean, mean fighting machine!

Fate/Grand Order Lancer/Altria Pendragon 1/8 Scale Figure
Next up to the spotlight is this gorgeous piece of Altria (Artoria) Pendragon, the bustiest of the Pendragon characters! We’re pretty sure this is the only Fate figure on the market that comes with a whole horse as an accessory! And it looks marvelous. King Arthur has never looked more noble. It’s as if the armor Artoria Pendragon usually wears as Saber has been transferred to her steed in the Lancer class! And the power radiating from Artoria’s lance makes it a work of art. And a super tall piece, as well.

Fate/Grand Order Lancer/Scathach 3rd Stage of Ascension 1/7 Scale Figure
This figure of Scathach is to die for. And by that, we mean she will kill you dead three times before you hit the ground. What with not one, but TWO spears. Just kidding. But honestly, this is such a beautiful figure. Dozens of reviewers on the TOM Shop all agree with how breathtaking it is, from the quality of her sculpting to the paint application. Her form is super sexy, and the look on her face brings to life the dramatic side of the series. She’s unfortunately out of stock these days, so hopefully we’ll get a re-run of her in the future.

Nendoroid Fate/Grand Order Lancer/Karna
Karna usually looks really intimidating. He has an ominous air to his character design. So we’re happy to see an image gap with this adorable Nendoroid version of Lancer of Red! But even as a Nendoroid, his hair and eyes are as boss as ever. Little accessories really make this figure shine, such as the Earrings of the Setting Sun and the magic effect on his spear. But the magic eye blast is definitely our favorite part!

Fate/Grand Order Lancer/Ereshkigal 1/7 Scale Figure
We present to you the blonde Mesopotamian goddess that stole our hearts (sorry, Ishtar), Ereshkigal! The wonderfully gothic characteristics of Ereshkigal’s outfit come to life when you get to see her in three dimensions. Her spear, Meslamtaea, is expertly crafted to look otherworldly. And the shape of her cape and her hair further help demonstrate the raw power emanating from this Lancer-class Servant. At 10.2” tall, she’s a very sizable figure and a wonderful addition for Fate figure collectors to add to their display!

Fate/Grand Order Lancer/Kiyohime 1/7 Scale Figure
This is the only figure of Kiyohime we could find recorded being on the TOM Shop, and it’s unfortunately out of stock. But it was just so beautiful, we have to give her her proper due by including her in this list. Kiyohime is created here with one part kimono, one part bikini, and all parts sexy! With that long turquoise hair of Kiyohime’s in twin tails, her character design reminds us of a certain vocal idol we all know and love. And just like with the other Lancers, she wields a badass weapon, both intricate and stunning to behold.
