OtapediaVegito Dragon Ball Super - Figures

After airing for a solid seven years on Japanese television, Dragon Ball Z became a national sensation. It was only after airing in the US and Europe, however, when it spread and gathered worldwide renown. With all of the hallmarks of a typical shonen jump story, Dragon Ball goes even further with its engaging drama and character development. Dragon Ball is also infamous for its continual power creep, where the villains who appear next are always much stronger than the heroes. Sometimes so much so that new techniques and special attacks must be invented. In a stroke of creative genius, the idea of fusing two of the series’ strongest fighters to create a single, immensely overpowered character was also formed, resulting in Vegito. This character is the fusion of the main character Son Goku and his rival Vegeta. Despite having a surprisingly short screen time, Vegito has gone on to join the ranks of the most beloved characters in the series. The following are four best-selling figures of Vegito that show him in a number of different forms and attacks like his Super Saiyan Blue form, Super Saiyan form, and his iconic Final Kamehameha attack.

Super Saiyan Vegito (Dragon Ball Z Blood of Saiyans Special Ver. Vol. 8)

With his arms folded and kicks flying at lightspeed, Vegito absolutely dominates Super Buu. Although the original plan was to have Goku fuse with Gohan to defeat Super Buu, Gohan dropped his Potara earring and was then himself absorbed by Super Buu. The only remaining options were Dende and Mr. Satan. As Goku was about to throw the earring to Mr. Satan, Vegeta showed up. Eventually, Goku persuaded Vegeta to fuse, resulting in the birth of Vegito. Turning into his Super Saiyan form soon after fusing allowed him to completely outclass Super Buu.

Super Saiyan Blue Vegito (Ichiban Figure Dragon Ball Extreme)

Super Saiyan Blue was the strongest form anyone had ever used until the Tournament of Power rolled around. Until the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie came out, Vegito was the strongest fusion character. Super Saiyan Blue Vegito is therefore a supremely powerful character. After fighting against a Fused Zamasu and losing badly, Goku and Vegeta decide to use the Potara earrings to fuse once again. After fusing, Fused Zamasu is nothing to Super Saiyan Blue Vegito. This figure of Vegito simply stands still with a powerful aura of confidence as he pulls on one of his gloves with a cocky smirk on his face. With a combination of Vegeta’s boots and gloves and Goku’s reversed Turtle School gi, Vegito is the perfect combination of Goku and Vegito.

Super Vegito (Ichiban Figure Dragon Ball Rising Fighters)

Before being turned into a candy by Super Buu, Vegito completely overwhelms the mysterious opponent. Buu, realizing that there is obviously no chance of defeating Vegito, turns him into a coffee flavored jawbreaker. Vegito keeps his power and intelligence and, ironically, just becomes smaller and harder to hit. By continuing to humiliate Super Buu as a coffee jawbreaker, Buu eventually decided to turn him back to his regular form before trying to absorb him by entering his body. This too doesn't work, as Vegito uses his ki to isolate Buu into parts of his body to strike him. Buu leaves Vegito’s body, injured and tired. He eventually gets tired of being stabbed, blasted, kicked, and punched and tries to absorb Vegito again.

Super Saiyan Blue Vegito (Dragon Ball Super Vegito: Final Kamehameha)

What happens when Goku’s signature Kamehameha is fused with Vegeta’s Final Flash attack? Super Saiyan Vegito’s Final Kamehameha is the answer. The Final Kamehameha would be the answer to almost any conflict in the Dragon Ball universe, as one of the most powerful attacks to grace the screen. Charging up for maximum power, Vegito stands moments before vaporizing Fused Zamasu when, unfortunately, the fusion wears off due the shortened time limit caused by immense power drain.

About Vegito

Vegito is the fusion of Goku and Vegeta via Potara earrings. The Potara earrings are given to a Kai when they graduate training and take their position as gods in the universe. The earrings when placed on opposing ears, however, can cause a fusion of two characters. While the fusion between divine entities like the Kai is permanent, the fusion of mortals via the mystical earrings has a time limit of one hour. When Supreme Kai and Kibito fused, they weren't aware of the permanency of the fusion, only being told afterwards. Old Kai made the same mistake when he was younger, as he was tricked into fusing with Old Witch. When Vegito uses his Super Saiyan Blue form, however, the power consumption is so massive that the one hour time limit is greatly reduced, resulting in a premature defusion. Seeing that Vegito is the fusion of two mortals and is therefore unstable, Vegito speaks with both Vegeta and Goku’s voices concurrently, whereas Kibito Kai only has one voice.

Reviews

Interestingly, even though the amount of time that Vegito appears in Dragon Ball Z and again in Dragon Ball Super is incredibly short (about four episodes and then twelve minutes or so respectively), he has enjoyed an incredible amount of popularity. Appearing in almost all iterations of the Dragon Ball video games and having high end figures available, Vegito often appears alongside his Metamoran fusion dance counterpart, Gogeta.
