OtapediaHunter x Hunter - Figures

Hunter x Hunter is a popular manga and anime series that saw its first boom of popularity after the first anime adaptation that aired a total of 62 episodes from 1999 to 2001. This version was later dubbed and released for English speaking audiences in 2008. A second wave of popularity came through after a new adaptation was announced. This new anime series sought out to stick better to the manga’s original plot and was released in 2011. It was then licensed by Viz Media in 2015, which later released an English dub in 2016. Due to the series popularity, many different figures recreating the original characters were released. Here are 3 popular Hunter x Hunter figures that include the figma Kurapika, the figma Killua Zaoldyeck, and the figma Gon Freecss.

About the Characters

Although all three characters in this page are main characters, the series puts a special focus on Gon Freecss as the main protagonist. Gon is an 11 year old boy at the start of the series and his most characteristic features are his spiky black hair and his all-green outfit. His goal is to become a Hunter to better understand his father, who was absent for many years of his childhood because of his profession. He has incredibly heightened senses, like his sense of smell which is as keen as a dog’s.

Killua Zoldyeck is a young boy who joins Gon’s party and is the same age as him. Before starting his journey to become a Hunter, he was an assassin. The Zoldyeck family is known for having a long tradition of top-notch assassins and their name is well known in the world of Hunters. He has white spiky hair, pale white skin and blue eyes. His outfit is very casual: a baggy white shirt over a blue long-sleeve and a pair of beige shorts. Almost all of his outfits feature a turtleneck.

Kurapika is the oldest of the three, being 17 at the moment he is introduced. He is rather tall compared to the other main characters (171 cm) and has blonde hair. He’s the last survivor of the Kurta Clan. All members of this clan possess Scarlet Eyes, which emerge whenever a person of the clan is experiencing a strong emotion. The clan was massacred in order to collect these eyes and sell them as valuable jewels. Kurapika is on a quest to become a Hunter, but his real goal is to get back the eyes of his clan.

About Hunter x Hunter

The start of the series starts by following the three main characters, Gon, Killua, and Kurapika in their journey to become official Hunters. In the world of Hunter x Hunter, Hunters are elite members of humanity who must undertake extremely difficult missions. Becoming a Hunter is no easy feat, however, and one has to pass a difficult yearly entrance exam. It is said that only one rookie passes this exam every three years, although there’s been a 10-year period without any new additions to the Hunters at the start of the series. The Hunter x Hunter series has been an incredibly popular one both in Japan and in the rest of the world. A second anime adaptation of the manga was aired in 2011, introducing newer fans to the anime and proving itself just as relevant to the audience as it was in 1999.
