OtapediaJoker Persona 5 - Figures

Typical of the Persona Series, the Persona 5 protagonist doesn’t have much of a standalone personality. Instead, his personality is determined by the player’s actions and dialogue choices. However, as his Phantom Thief alias, Joker, the personality of a confident, deviant prankster shines through. Joker’s design embodies the sharp, almost pulp style that made Persona 5 so visually memorable. As far as figures go, Joker has tough competition with such a diverse female supporting cast. However, the Phantom Thief still sneaks a large amount of figures, even in his civilian appearance. Here are three of the most dynamic and ultra-cool Phantom Thief Joker Figures: “ArtFXJ Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight Hero & Morgana,” “Persona 5 the Animation Ren Amamiya 1/7 Scale Figure,” and “figma Persona 5 Joker Re-Run.”

ArtFXJ Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight Hero & Morgana Figure

Kotobukiya shows off their expert sculpting abilities in this scale figure of dancing Protagonist and Morgana. The pose is based on the Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight cover art with the Protagonist busting a move in the foreground. The Protagonist wears the Shujin blazer and pants but with a black graphic t-shirt instead of the school turtleneck. He accessorizes with accents of red, like the bandanna peeking out from under his blazer and his gloves. The dynamic movement in the piece is conveyed through the bandanna and blazer flying up with momentum. Morgana joins the Protagonist in a dance, wearing a large white graphic tee, treasure-like crown, and a matching red bandanna around his neck. For an extra dimension, the figure comes on a stand mimicking broken glass.

Persona 5 the Animation Ren Amamiya 1/7 Scale Figure

This scale figure from Soul Wing shows the protagonist, Ren Amamiya, in his real-world form sitting quietly on a school desk. He’s wearing his Shujin Academy uniform complete with a blazer, shirt, and dark plaid pants. Ren sits on top of his school desk with his right foot resting on the chair in front of him. The desk and chair take the minimalist, metal appearance typical of Shujin Academy in the anime. His left arm supports his slight slouch as he slightly lowers his glasses to glance at the viewer. His school bag hangs on the desk’s side hook, zipped shut to show Mona is not hiding inside. The small carving work on the bag straps, pockets, and Ren’s shoelaces show a high level of attention to detail. The painting also stands out in the crisp, parallel lines of the plaid pants and the curvature in the Shujin crest.

figma Persona 5 Joker Re-Run Figure

Joker looks so fast, so fine in this articulated figure from Max Factory’s figma line. His Phantom Thief disguise has been replicated with a combination of articulated joints and flexible plastic to maintain Joker’s striking silhouette in any pose. His long jacket in particular can be manipulated to create dramatic scenes. Painting detail on his jacket conveys a heavy leather texture, contrasting with the smooth fabric appearance of his pants and gloves. The figure comes with three faceplates: a neutral expression, a smile, and a wide, mischievous grin. Additional accessories include Joker’s melee knife, a silver gun, and optional hand parts. There is also an interchangeable front hairpiece to pose him wearing his mask. Importantly, Joker comes with a small figure of his right-hand man, Morgana, in his metaverse appearance.

  • Manufacturer: Max Factory
  • Sculptor: Max Factory (SF354, Taizou)
  • Specifications: Painted, articulated, non-scale ABS & PVC figure with optional parts and stand
  • Height (Approx.): 150mm | 5.9"

About Joker

Joker is the metaverse alias for the Persona 5 protagonist. The protagonist, also known as Akira or Ren Amamiya in the anime, winds up in Tokyo after getting into legal troubles. He boards with a family friend, the prickly Sojiro Sakura. On the way to school, a strange app starts up on his phone. He and a fellow classmate stumble upon a strange castle version of their school building and eventually learn this space is called the metaverse. That night he awakens in a prison cell with two guards and a strange man welcoming him to the Velvet Room. The protagonist learns he is part of a contract through which he can undergo a strange “rehabilitation” to avoid destruction as a “prisoner of fate.” Over time, he becomes the leader of a group of rebellious teenagers who enter the metaverse to change the hearts of corrupted adults.

Other Important Persona 5 Characters

Morgana is a mysterious creature with unknown ties to the metaverse. Morgana himself can’t remember his past and teams up with Joker and his friends in order to trigger his memories. In the metaverse, Morgana appears as a bipedal, cat-like creature with a large round head and yellow scarf around his neck. In the real world, he takes the appearance of an average tuxedo cat. Despite his amnesia and confused identity, Morgana insists he is truly human. He lives with Joker and the two form a strong bond as they tackle the metaverse together.

Igor is the proprietor of the Velvet Room, a recurring liminal space in the Persona game series that exists somewhere between dream and reality. Igor’s involvement allows the protagonist to create different personas and gain insight on their journey. In Persona 5, the Velvet Room takes the appearance of a jail with Igor presiding as warden. He judges the protagonist’s progress on the path to rehabilitation.
