OtapediaJiren Dragon Ball - Figures

Dragon Ball is one of the biggest names in the world of Japanese manga and anime. With a history spanning over 30 years since its first publication, Dragon Ball has been depicted in animation, games, Hollywood, and more. After ending its phenomenal run on January 31, 1996, Dragon Ball fans were left wanting. Tori studios continued to produce an original animated continuation of the Dragon Ball story called Dragon Ball GT. After being outraged at the production of the Hollywood Dragon Ball: Evolution, original author Toriyama Akira returned with a brand new movie of his own, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods in 2013. After achieving great success and worldwide praise, Toriyama decided to return to the fold with accomplished manga author Toyotaro to create Dragon Ball Super. Many interesting stories were penned including the return of Future Trunks and a universal battle royale. One of the most awesome characters introduced during Dragon Ball Super is Jiren the Grey. Jiren is the strongest mortal to have ever existed so far in the Dragon Ball universe, with powers rivaling or surpassing some Gods of Destruction. Jiren has joined the ranks of Dragon Ball figures with some of his own impressive molds. Here are a few of the most popular Jiren figure items such as the “S.H.Figuarts Dragon Ball Super Jiren”, “Dragon Ball Super Chosenshi Retsuden Vol. 2” and the “Dragon Ball Super World Collectable Diorama Vol. 2”.

About Jiren

Jiren is a tragic case. As a young child, his parents were killed along with the whole of his village. He found a master to train under in order to gain strength to fight against the man who killed his family. Unfortunately, Jiren’s master was also killed by the mysterious villain. Jiren then sought strength on his own terms. He eventually became the strongest being in his universe, surpassing even the God of destruction Belmod. Jiren serves as the main opponent in the tournament of power, a seemingly unbeatable foe. It's only thanks to the teamwork of universe 7 (Goku, Android 17 and Frieza) that he was defeated.

Other Important Dragon Ball Super Characters

The Pride Troopers of universe 11 are the closest thing Jiren has to friends, at least until he meets Goku. Belmod, the God of destruction in universe 11 was the one to invite Jiren to the tournament of power. Had he not, the audience may never have seen Jiren, and universe 7 may not have won the tournament. Goku and Vegeta are the ones eventually to push Jiren beyond his limits. The first time he has ever had to use his whole power and without holding back. This also taught Jiren that teamwork and friendship are often stronger than simply being the most powerful being. It showed Jiren a kind of humility that he had forgotten in his search for ultimate strength.
