Synopsis
Dorohedoro tells the story of Caiman, a man with amnesia who wakes up with a lizard head. He and his friends live in “the Hole” which is a dangerous city that has a clan of sorcerers who are taking people right off the street to perform experiments on using the black arts. Nikaido and Caiman join together to hunt down those orchestrating the atrocities and kill them one by one. However, En, a powerful player in the world of mages, finds out about this and sends a crew of “cleaners” to kill Caiman, Nikaido, and anyone who poses a threat to his abysmal goals. In the Hole, a full-out war breaks out!
Background
Dorohedoro is a TV anime series adaptation of the manga with the same name written and illustrated by Q Hayashida. It was first serialized in Shougakukan’s seinen magazine Monthly Ikki and was later transferred to Hibanana and then finally Monthly Shonen Sunday where it finished in September 2018. The series has been licensed in English by Viz Media and was distributed digitally through SigIKKI. It is an adventure, dark fantasy, science fiction series.
The anime is being produced by MAPPA and is set to premiere in January 2020.

Caiman is the main character who lost his memories and his head was magically transformed into a lizard’s head.

Nikaido is Caiman’s friend and she is ridiculously strong.

Fujita serves the En family. He is a humble mage who cries easily and often.

Shin works for the En family. He is a cleaner and assassin.

Noi is Shin’s partner and En’s cousin.

Vaux is a doctor whose speciality is injuries inflicted by magic.

Kasukabe is a researcher who researches mages.

Ebisu is a mage and hanger-on of the En family.

Kikurage is a mysterious creature that can use magic. Its godfather is En.

Risu is a member of the Cross-Eyes Organization.

Tanba owns a pie shop. Though he looks scary, he is actually kind and empathetic.

Turkey is one of the top brass of the En family. He can use magic to create dolls from food.

Asu is a demon. He worries about Nikaido.

Chota is one of the top brass of the En family. He is able to cancel magic that has been cast.
