Super Saiyan Rose Dragon Ball Super - Figures

None of the Dragon Ball villains are quite as frightening as Goku Black (Zamasu). Not only is he completely insane and hell-bent on the extermination of all humans, but he also inhabits Goku’s body! Could there be a more terrifying foe? Future Trunks returns in Dragon Ball Super once again to seek the help of the main timelines Goku and Vegeta to help in his futile resistance against Goku Black and Zamasu. It seems poor Future Trunks simply can’t catch a break, from having his world once destroyed by the Androids, and again by the evil godly duo. Goku and Vegeta, of course, agree to help but despite their best efforts, it appears that Goku Black is a far more dangerous foe than they had anticipated, even with their newfound Super Saiyan Blue forms. Goku Black is not only Zamasu controlling Goku’s massive power but is also himself a natural user of god ki too, inflating the power that Goku’s body would normally possess—especially when he discovers Super Saiyan Rose. Goku Black is bad news. One look at his face spells everything out. Swinging a purple scythe made of ki, Goku Black shows an expression of pure glee. He is attacking someone, and completely loving it. It’s not even a nice gleeful expression, the furrowed brows and twisted smile make it something else, something scarier. The human extermination plan might be another giveaway that this character is certainly not one of the good guys. 17cm of crazed scythe swinging Super Saiyan Rose crafted with big chunky strokes, leaving tons of space for high-spec colors and shading. Banpresto has taken Goku Black in his Super Saiyan Rose form straight from the manga and brought him into reality.

Dragon Ball Super Grandista Super Saiyan Rosé Goku Black Manga Dimensions Figure

Coloring reminiscent of cel-shading, Banpresto’s Super Grandista Super Saiyan Rose is beautiful to look at. The shading brings a 3D pop that adds depth and weight to the figure. Goku Black’s grey-black gi with white boots and red sash make for a very dark themed costume. His hair is bright pink with light reflections emphasized by the darkness and shadow near the roots. The attention to detail here is impressive, even going so far as to detail the time ring that he wears on his index finger.

Dragon Ball Super Goku Black: Shinretsuzan Figure

Goku Black’s power is undeniably fearsome. One scene, in particular, illustrated this quite succinctly when using his ki scythe, Goku Black cut through reality leaving huge gaping vortexes in the sky. Goku Black himself is surprised at this and claims that even he is unsure of what exactly happened. Super Saiyan Rose Goku Black is strong and well-versed enough in the use of god ki that he can even form weapons out of it, something that had only been seen done by Vegito during the Majin Buu saga. This figure is painted quite brightly, helping to stand out, especially the pink-colored Super Saiyan Rose hair.

About Super Saiyan Rose

Appearing alongside alternate timeline Zamasu for the first time in Dragon Ball Super’s Future Trunks Saga, Goku Black does everything in his power to kill Future Trunks and the human resistance army.

Background

The background is a bit confusing. Zamasu from the main timeline spars with Goku and decides he is far too dangerous. He kills Gowasu and steals the time rings, then using the Super Dragon Balls to steal Goku’s body, become Goku Black and kill Goku and his family. Goku Black then goes to Trunks’ timeline where there are no gods of destruction. He finds Zamasu there and in the Trunks timeline, Zamasu wishes for immortality. Trunks comes back to the main timeline before Zamasu and Goku fight. Goku Black appears briefly as he attempts to chase Trunks through time but is sucked back into the past. They visit Zamasu again; this time with Beerus and Whis. Beerus confirms Zamasu’s plan to kill Gowasu and erases him. Goku Black and Zamasu are now immune from any changes to the timelines because they wield the time rings. They continue their scheme in Future Trunks’ timeline.

Special Abilities

Goku Black has time rings that allow him to travel to other timelines with impunity. He also has a set of potara earrings that he and Zamasu use to fuse later on. As Super Saiyan Rose, Goku Black has tremendous power, and the nature of his Saiyan body and god ki allow him to constantly develop fighting skill and power the more he fights.

Other Important Dragon Ball Super Characters

A couple of characters are important for Goku Black to have turned out the way he did. The first being the character that he was before he stole Goku’s body and the second being Goku himself.

Zamasu

Zamasu was fascinated with Goku’s fight with Hit as seen on GodTube. He became even more infatuated with the idea of Goku’s power after sparring with him and feeling how overwhelmingly powerful he was in only Super Saiyan 2 form. Zamasu then conspired to kill Gowasu and steal Goku’s body. This was the birth of Goku Black.

Goku

Goku, always one to enjoy a good fight, decided to spar with Zamasu on his home planet. Goku used only Super Saiyan 2 but was easily outclassing the Shinjin (core person) without any trouble. When Goku Black appeared in the main timeline briefly, Goku had his suspicions and tested them by again fighting with Zamasu. He was right, Goku Black was in fact an alternate timeline Zamasu.
