Belle x BE@RBRICK Collaboration Background

BE@RBRICK’s collaboration with Peanuts has produced over 15 unique figures. These have spanned from 2010 to today and make it a fairly extensive collection.

Collaboration Planning and Launch Information

The original BE@RBRICK and Peanuts collaboration was all the way in 2010. BE@RBRICKS released a collection of four Peanuts figures including Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, and Peppermint Patty in celebration of the Peanuts 60 years world tour. Since then, there have been remakes of all of those figures. In 2015 Medicom Toys released an Astronaut Snoopy BE@RBRICK to celebrate the Apollo 10 moon landing in 1969. After that, a new Peanuts figure has been released every year, with the exception of two new figures in both 2018 and 2020. Peanuts figures have been featured in multiple special BE@ARBRICKS series as well. The newest figure in the collection is Marbles, which is scheduled to be released in May of 2021.

BE@RBRICK Peanuts Belle 400%

In the fashion of the original comic strip, the details of this BE@RBRICK are rendered with pencil-like lines. This figure of Belle is nothing short of adorable, featuring a black button nose and eyes drawn close together donning three eyelashes each. On the top of her head, there is a small pink bow, which pairs nicely with the pink on her collar. Turning to the back of the figure, there is a lovely spot in the middle of her back that somewhat resembles a heart. A little tail is drawn out underneath it. This is a must-have for any Peanuts collection. It is available in a 400% size as well as in a 1000% size.

About Peanuts

Over the runtime of the Peanuts comic, it earned a readership of 355 million people in 75 countries, was translated into 21 languages and ran in 2600 newspapers. There is no doubting Peanuts’ enormous influence on society. The story centered around the daily lives of a group of neighborhood children. Throughout its entire publication, an adult is hardly ever seen in the comics. If they are, they are usually just depicted as a set of legs. The author, Charles Schulz never explicitly addressed social or political issues but depicted them subtly in his work. Themes of race, gender, religion, and existentialism appear throughout the story. These themes are portrayed in the everyday lives of the characters, making them very relatable and realistic. The comics resonated in the hearts of readers throughout the entire world. John Schulz passed away in 2000, marking the end of the Peanuts comics. However, Peanuts remains a true work of art in history.

About Belle

Belle is a dog character in the Peanuts comics and Snoopy’s sister. She looks very similar to Snoopy but wears a pink collar and has long eyelashes. She first appeared in the comics in 1976 when Snoopy decided to visit her. Although her appearance in the comics was short-lived, her cute design soon made her a target for merchandising. Many different Belle products were released, making her a fan favorite.

About Snoopy

Snoopy is easily the most beloved and iconic character from the Peanuts series. He is the loyal and good-natured dog of Charlie Brown. The author Schulz said that Snoopy’s character was a reflection of who he wanted to be, “fearless, the life of the party, and brushing off Lucy’s bad temper with a glancing kiss”. Snoopy’s charismatic and positive personality makes him easy to love. In the series, he is often seen acting out different fantasy characters. The most well-known of his roleplays is the world flying ace. In this costume, he wears goggles, a helmet, and a scarf.

Related Figures

Another adorable figure from the Peanuts and BE@RBRICK collaboration is the BE@RBRICK Sally Brown 400%. The figure depicts Charlie Brown’s younger sister, Sally Brown. Once again, quirky pencil-like lines are used to render her. One can see a roughly drawn tuft of hair on the front of her blonde hair and a soft smiling expression. This BE@RBICK is wearing Sally Brown’s iconic pink dress with red polka dots and scalloped sleeves. On the back, there is a bow drawn on, fitting her girly image. Sally Brown is a must-have for any Peanuts collector.
