OtapediaKurisu Makise Steins;Gate - Nendoroid

Within the anime community, Steins;Gate is regarded by many as a classic sci-fi series that is a must-watch for anyone getting into anime and otaku culture. Although the franchise began as a visual novel in 2009, Steins;Gate's heavy use of memorable characters, pseudo-realistic time travel, and Japanese internet culture made it stand out in the eyes of many fans, which quickly resulted in an anime adaptation by anime studio White Fox, which first aired in 2011. This only further increased the popularity of the franchise, leading to a wide range of merchandise being made based on various Steins;Gate characters. One such character would be Kurisu Makise, one of the main heroines of the series. Her unique reddish-chestnut hair, violet eyes, and tsundere personality quickly made her a favorite among many fans. As such, a variety of figures based on Kurisu were produced by manufacturers like Good Smile Company and their Nendoroid line. The "Nendoroid Kurisu Makise | Steins;Gate" is a particularly popular figure that received multiple re-releases throughout the years.

About Kurisu Makise

Kurisu Makise is a young genius scientist who eventually joins the protagonist, Rintaro Okabe, and his time-traveling journey in Steins;Gate. Kurisu also acts as one of the main heroines of the series.

About Kurisu Makise: Background

Kurisu Makise is an exceptionally intelligent young woman who, despite only being eighteen years old, is a professional scientist who performs research in her field of the fictional Viktor Chondria University in New York. Kurisu's work here eventually resulted in her research being published in a popular academic journal, quickly thrusting her into fame among scientists around the world of Steins;Gate. Although she generally takes a harsh and sarcastic tone toward Okabe because of his brash and insensitive attitude, Kurisu is largely a kindhearted and approachable individual, particularly with the other female lab members like Mayuri Shiina. In addition, Kurisu can be quite stubborn and confident when it comes to her intellect but is not averse to changing her beliefs when presented with new and indisputable evidence. Kurisu can also be quite shy about some things and often refuses to admit that she frequents the same online message boards that Okabe and Daru do.

About Kurisu Makise: Abilities

One of Kurisu's most notable abilities and skills is, of course, her genius-level intelligence. At first, her smarts and quick wit were first used to shut down Okabe during a debate on the viability of time travel. However, after joining Okabe's lab, Kurisu uses her knowledge of neuroscience to help him upgrade his makeshift time machine to send one's memories into the past. Furthermore, as someone performing research at a New York University, Kurisu can also speak fluent English, which greatly helps Okabe and the others in understanding the goals of SERN after Daru hacks into their database.

Other Important Steins;Gate Characters

Throughout the Steins;Gate series, two of the most important characters would include Rintaro Okabe and Mayuri Shiina.

Rintaro Okabe

Rintaro Okabe is the main protagonist of the Steins;Gate series. While his real name is Rintaro Okabe, he generally prefers to call himself by his made-up identity, Kyouma Hououin. While acting as Kyouma Hououin, Okabe is an intense and self-confident "mad scientist" who fights against a fictional "Organization" that constantly looms in the background. In reality, Okabe is a socially awkward engineering student who originally created the facade of Kyouma Hououin to cheer up his childhood friend, Mayuri Shiina, when they were younger. After accidentally creating a time machine, he realizes that he is seemingly the only person on Earth that has the ability to retain all of his memories between different worldlines which, after having to relive numerous tragedies, puts a great strain on him mentally and causes him to drop his boisterous identity at times.

Mayuri Shiina

Mayuri Shiina is a young woman who is both Okabe's closest friend and the second member of his self-proclaimed laboratory. She is often portrayed as being fairly childish and innocent, yet incredibly kindhearted and motherly. After getting close to someone, Mayuri also likes giving them "cute" nicknames, like "Okarin" for Okabe and "Mayushii" for herself. In her free time, Mayuri often spends time with Okabe in his lab, though she does also work part-time in one of the local maid cafes called May Queen Nyan-nyan along with Faris NyanNyan. Mayuri also enjoys creating cosplays for herself and some of her other friends.
