The Uprising Arc - Attack on Titan
The Uprising Arc is the sixth story arc of the Attack on Titan series created, written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. In the manga, the Uprising Arc include from Chapter 51 to Chapter 70, while in the TV anime version it is covered over Episode 38 to Episode 48. This arc is the following arc after the Clash of the Titans Arc.
During the The Uprising Arc, the story explains how the situation inside the Walls becomes critical after the assassination of Pastor Nick and the subsequent attempt to kidnap Eren Jaeger and Historia Reiss. As they know that the actions of the monarchy will put humanity in great danger, Erwin Smith begins his plan to overthrow the government.
Summary
After the “victorious” return to the Walls, the members of the Survey Corps will encounter a very delicate situation that affects humanity a lot. After securing the territories, it was possible to confirm what was previously suspected about the origin of the Titans that appeared within the Walls. Therefore, Erwin must be judged due to the numerous casualties that his operation had caused. Nevertheless, with Hange in charge, the Survey Corps must continue with their activities. For this reason, a new Levi Squad must be formed and will be responsible for protecting Eren and Historia.
However, a new obstacle arises after the assassination of Pastor Nick, indicating that the Survey Corps dp not only have enemies outside the Walls but also inside too. The soldiers of the Corps must face people of their own, who were their allies before they are betrayed and get stabbed in the back. Also, at the same time, they will try to progress with the attempts to seal Wall Maria, and Eren will try to find out what his limits are when using the “hardening technique”. The answers to Nick’s murder are found in an internal squad of the Military Police Brigade, who are on the lookout for Eren.
The new Levi Squad receives new orders from Erwin, so the group must move and deceive their persecutors. Dimo Reeves joins the cause of the Corps, and together they kidnap two soldiers from the Military Police to get more information. The plan seems to move forward, but Kenny Ackermann’s sudden appearance would complicate the matter when he kidnaps Eren and Historia. Problems continue to occur with the accusation of the Survey Corps regarding the assassination of Reeves, so the initial plan is modified. The Squad must then track the kidnappers and tie several loose ends to reach Eren, who is at the hands of Rod Reiss, the true leader of the monarchy and biological father of Historia.
At the same time, Erwin, along with Dot Pixis, are able to carry out a coup d’etat by revealing the true intentions of the monarchs, and now they will be able to support the Levi Squad, which must collide with an “anti-human” squad before reaching Eren. After comings and goings, Rod Reiss is increasingly cornered, and with a special serum in his possession, he becomes a Titan. Eren and Historia, reincorporated with the soldiers, will face the “strongest Titan” that goes through the central districts. After this confrontation, this Titan would be defeated.
Finally, Erwin’s plan would triumph with the monarchy overthrown and replaced by honest people, headed by Historia. From this point on, the recovery of Wall Maria’s plan is projected in the future.
