Story Arcs - Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)
The Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series is still currently in progress and to date the manga has reached the the Dimensional Infinity Fortress Arc. Season 1 of the anime series consists of the first six Arcs starting from the Final Selection Arc to the Functional Recovery Training Arc. The Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie Mugen Train covers the Demon Train Arc. Season 2 is said to continue from after the Demon Train Arc.
Anime Series Arcs
Here is a list of the Arcs found both in the original manga and also the anime series to date.
Final Selection
The first Arc of the series, focusing on Tanjiro Kamado’s path after his family was slaughtered. The Arc ends after he passes the Final Selection test and receives his Nichirin blade. He starts out by seeking Sakonji Urokodaki in order to undergo training to become a Demon Slayer. During training, he encounters Urokodaki’s apprentices, Sabito and Makomo who help him train in order to master the Total Concentration Breathing Water Style. During the selection, Tanjiro encounters the Hand Demon who held a grudge against Urokodaki and discovers more about his master's mysterious past.
First Mission
The First Mission Arc is the shortest Arc that takes place in Episodes 6 and 7 of the anime series. Tanjiro begins his first mission as a Demon Slayer and investigates the disappearance of young girls from a neighboring town. In this Arc, Tanjiro and Nezuko both fight against the Swamp Demon discovering their power of bonds and their first encounter with Demon Blood Arts.
Asakusa Arc
The Asakusa Arc lasts for 3 Episodes, starting with Tanjiro’s first encounter with Muzan Kibutsuji. The Twelve Demon Moons also known as the twelve Kizuki are introduced. They are a group of twelve powerful Demons under Muzan’s command, all given a portion of his blood. Tanjiro also meets with the doctor Tamayo and her assistant Yushiro at their clinic. After getting found by Susamaru and Yahaba, they band together to fight against them.
Drum House Arc
The Drum House Arc takes place at Tsuzumi Mansion, this Arc consists of 4 Episodes introducing other Demon Slayers and traveling companions to Tanjiro and Nezuko. During his travel, Tanjiro meets up with Zenitsu Agatsuma and decides to help two young children retrieve their older brother in a suspicious mansion. Within they meet a Demon named Kyogai and a Demon Slayer named Inosuke Hashibira. In this mansion there are other demons that Zenitsu and Inosuke fight against named the Horned Demon, and the Tongue Demon.
Natagumo Mountain Arc
In the Natagumo Mountain Arc, gathering new allies in his journey, Tanjiro and his companions head towards their next mission in Natagumo Mountain. This a long Arc, that runs from Episode 15 to the end of 21, consisting of 7 episodes. Realizing that something is off, the three Demon Slayers and Nezuko are faced against the Spider Demon Family including one of the Twelve Demon Moons, Rui.
Functional Recovery Training
The Functional Recovery Training Arc lasts from Episode 22 to the final Episode 26 of Season 1 of the anime. Tanjiro and Nezuko are put under trial by the pillars. Once Nezuko is proven to be able to resist herself from eating humans they are taking to the Butterfly Mansion to recover. Recovering from their fight at Natagumo Mountain, Tanjiro meets with Zenitsu and Inosuke who are still recuperating at the Butterfly Mansion. During rehabilitation they undergo training with the residents, learning how to master total concentration breathing for over 24 hours.
Demon Train Arc
The Demon Train Arc is the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series’ seventh Arc and serves as the basis for the first film called Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train. A Demon named Enmu has been sent to destroy Tanjiro Kamado in order to promote him to become an upper moon. There is an infinity train where the main characters ride to discover the Flame Pillar, Kyojuro Rengoku.

Entertainment District Arc
The Entertainment District Arc introduces the Sound Pillar, Uzui, who joined by Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu on a trip to Yoshiwara to help find his lost wives who were researching rumours of Demons within the city.
The Swordsmith Village Arc
The Swordsmith Village Arc is the ninth Arc of the series. A war between Demon Slayer Tanjiro Kamado and Genya Shinazugawa, Love Pillar Mitsuri Kanroji and Demon Nezuko Kamado against the Upper Moon Four, Hantengu. And a separate battle between Mist Pillar Muichiro Tokito and Upper Moon Five, Gyokko, taking place in the Swordsmith Village.
Pillar Training
The Pillar Training Arc introduces the Pillar Training performed by the Pillars. It is a special training program aimed at improving the capabilities and physical health of all Demon Slayers. The teaching is split amongst the pillars First, the Pillar of Sound, Uzui Tengen is performing basic endurance preparation. The Love Pillar, Kanroji Mitsuri then manages strength training and the Mist Pillar, Muichirou Tokito, performs the swift movement training.
Dimensional Infinity Fortress Arc
The Dimensional Infinity Fortress Arc storyline consists of introducing the Dimensional Infinity Fortress which is the lair of the Twelve Demon Moons. Muzan calls in the lower Moons to fortress to force a dismantlement of the group.
