Tamayo - Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)
Tamayo (珠世) is a beauty that allies with Tanjiro Kamado in the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series. She is a skilled doctor that was turned into a Demon by Muzan Kibutsuji. Always close by is her assistant Yushiro who claims Tamayo is the most beautiful woman in existence. Her Japanese voice actor is Maaya Sakamoto and is voiced by Laura Post in the English dub. Tamayo first appears in Chapter 14 of the manga, and Episode 8 in the anime series.

Appearance
Having stated to be turned into a Demon by Muzan Kibutsuji, she is at least over 400 years old. Tamayo is a beautiful woman with long, dark brown hair parted from the center. The back braided into a large bun held in place by a floral hair pin. She possesses gentle eyes without pupils, that are pale pink fading to lavender. She has a pale skin complexion that contrasts with her crimson red lips.
Tamayo wears a purple kimono that is decorated with flowers and purple vine like branches fastened by a light greenish cream colored obi. At her feet, traditional zori sandals with white socks.
Personality
Even though she is a Demon, she is gentle, wise, and intelligent. She has devoted most of her life to researching the Demons and the transformation that occurs. Tamayo shows a great deal of kindness towards humans, and tries to take the passive approach when dealing with conflict. Given the usually volatile interaction between the humankind and the Demons, she shows a great deal of compassion to humanity and made it part of her mission to help the wounded or the ill with her vast medical knowledge. Tamayo had a strong preference against abuse, and instead of killing humans for their blood in order to survive, chose to buy the blood instead from consenting donors. She was insistent about educating her assistant Yushiro, against abuse, and often rebuked him for his practice of hitting anyone. She was one of the few Demons to be willing, in her later Demon existence, to acquire and retain human emotions.
Abilities
- Medical Knowledge - Displays impressive skills in the field of medicine including pharmaceuticals and utilizing the skill to alter her own body. For example, she uses this technique to require less blood to survive. She was also able to transform the terminally ill Yushiro into a Demon without Muzan's blood, and is later able to reverse the cycle while healing the man they meet in the Asakusa Arc. Tamayo was also able to help Shinobu fill her body with deadly Wisteria Poison at the same time causing her the slightest effects in order to further demonstrate her pharmaceutical skill.
- Anti Demon Drugs - Tamayo has developed this medication to discourage the development of blood Demon arts. After his battle with Kaigaku, Yushiro used this medication to heal Zenitsu. With the aid of Shinobu and Yushiro, she was eventually able to create a medicine that would transform a Demon back into a human being, something deemed impossible by the Demon Slayer Corps and the founder of the Demon race himself, Muzan Kibutsuji. Tamayo has developed an ageing medication capable of aging someone 50 years a minute and prescribed it effectively to Muzan along with her humanization medication. During the span of three hours, the medication served to age him biologically a millenia, seriously deterring him as his body had to separate the ability to ward off the effects of the drug and at the same time battle the Demon Slayers.
- Demon Abilities - Being a Demon created by Muzan, she possesses extremely strong Demon arts. One of these skills is Blood Bewitchment, which she uses her own blood to create different effects on the target. Another fragrance she uses acts similar to a drug of truth, causing brain function to decline and allowing the recipient reveal their lies and not hold their secrets from the user.
- Aroma of Visual Fantasy - A special technique among her Demonic abilities she used to cause hallucinations in order to save Tanjiro. In this particular event, she hindered the affected targets visions with images of beautiful flower patterns.
- Seeds of Blood - Tamayo uses her flesh and blood to produces numerous tiny flesh seeds that cover and overwhelm her intended target. The seeds then burst and expand into giant pulp trees with various pointed, spiked branches that then pierce impaling and constrain their target, the impact of this strategy was strong enough to deter Muzan, even if only briefly.
- Regeneration - Being a powerful Demon, she is able to regenerate from any otherwise fatal wounds.
- High Vitality - A basic trait all Demon’s possess is high strength compared to humans. However Tamayo chooses to not resort to violence and mainly chooses the most peaceful option.
