Takahiro Sakurai - Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)
Takahiro Sakurai (櫻井 孝宏, Sakurai Takahiro), was born on June 13, 1974 in Okazaki, Aichi, Japan. Sakurai is a voice actor affiliated with the voice agency 81 Produce and has been active since 1996. He voices Giyu Tomioka in Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer). The roles he plays are mostly of a handsome and charming characters such as Sting from Fairy Tail, Crusty from Log Horizon, Osomatsu Matsuno and of course, Giyu Tomioka.
Some of his best known roles as a voice actor for TV anime is providing the voices for Suzaku Kururugi in Code Geass, Tentomon from Digimon, McGillis Fareed from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Rohan Kishibe from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, Shougo Makishima from Psycho-Pass and Griffith from Berserk. But he has also done many other voice acting roles for characters from recent famous tv anime’s such Sasori from Naruto Shippuden, Sting Eucliffe in Fairy Tail, Isshiki Satoshi from Shokugeki no Soma, Ai from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Zombieman from One Punch man, Yu Kanada from D.Gray-man, Izuru Kira from Bleach and many more.
Takahiro Sakurai has also done quite a mix of voice roles, doing many live-action dubbing voice roles such as Edward Cullen from the Twilight saga, and also has featured in famous video games such as Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children as Cloud Strife. Giyu Tomioka
Giyu Tomioka from Kimetsu no Yaiba(Demon Slayer) is a powerful swordsman and one of the Demon Slayer Pillars who always has a serious expression on his face with a reserved and cool personality.
Giyu has a strong sense of justice and shows no hesitation with slaughtering Demons, though he did spare the life of Nezuko Kamado because of what he saw in Tanjiro Kamado’s efforts to keep her alive and return her to a human form.
He keeps himself distant from those around him and is very individual with few words and little interaction with people. Despite his aloof and stoic nature, he is shown to be a protective and caring person for the people close to him. In the Kimetsu no Yaiba Demon Slayer manga Chapter 46, we see him put his life on the line to save Tanjiro and Nezuko by vowing to commit seppuku (cutting his own belly) if the latter were ever to eat a human, showing his justice and strict to self personality.
