Synopsis

Alice or Alice is a comedic, heartfelt slice-of-life seinen series about twins Rise and Airi who have an older brother whom they call “Oni” and who has a sister complex. He knows everything about them and feels responsible for them too. Rise is reliable and Airi likes to live life at her own pace. The series chronicles their time together while eating meals, playing with friends such as Maco, and attending school. There’s also a couple fairy characters. There’s a forest fairy called Alpaca-san that often bites and a fairy that works in a store called Kabi Usagi.

Background

Alice or Alice began as a Japanese manga series create by Riko Korie, an illustrator of light novels and visual novels. It was first published as a one-shot in the then magazine supplement “Comic Cune” which was included in the seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive in September 2013. There are two tankobon volumes published. An anime adaptation by studio EMT Squared directed by Kosuke Kobayashi is planned to broadcast in Japan in April 2018.

Rise is the reliable Alice. She loves sweets and is voiced by Ayane Sakura.

Airi (CV: Rina Hidaka)
Airi is the Alice that does things at her own pace. She’s occasionally disobedient. She is voiced by Rina Hidaka.

Older Brother “Oni” (CV: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka)
Older Brother “Oni” is the older brother of Rise and Airi. He feels a sense of responsibility for them and knows everything about them. He is voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka.

Maco (CV: Natsumi Takamori)
Maco is friends with Rise and Airi. She’s unbeatable at eating and is voiced by Natsumi Takamori.

Coco (CV: Ayaka Suwa)
Coco is Maco’s little sister but she seems like an older sister. She’s a considerate, well-balanced little sister. She is voiced by Ayaka Suwa.

Kisaki (CV: Sora Tokui)
Kisaki self-proclaims to be a little sister of the Older Brother, but she’s really a maid. She is voiced by Sora Tokui.

Ruha (CV: Saori Onishi)
Ruha is a hungry, reserved girl who attends the same school as Rise and Airi. She is voiced by Saori Onishi.

Alpaca-san (CV: Hiyori Nitta)
Alpaca-san is a forest fairy who often bites and it’s painful. Alpaca-san is voiced by Hiyori Nitta.

Kabi Usagi (CV: Hiyori Nitta)
Kabi Usagi is a fairy who works in Kisaki’s shop that can do a lot. Kabi Usagi is voiced by Hiyori Nitta.
