Himemori Luna - VTuber

Himemori Luna is Japanese speaking VTuber from Hololive’s 4th Generation that is primarily known for her gaming streams as well as her pampered, child-like personality. Although she is not quite as popular as other members of her generation, her love of games and music have caused her to still gain a sizable following in the VTuber community.

Luna is a self-proclaimed princess of sweets and can be found streaming a variety of content on her channel, though she generally prefers playing RPGs and older retro games like Super Metroid, Dragon Quest V, and so on.

Himemori Luna History

Luna first made herself known to the world via her Twitter account on December 31st, 2019 before her official YouTube debut, which occurred several days later on January 4th, 2020. On July 15th, she teased the debut of her 3D model and simultaneously reached 200,000 subscribers on her channel. Several days later, her 3D debut took place on July 19th. December 19th, Luna received a major update to her Live2D model and also reached 400,000 subscribers. Then, on New Year’s Day 2021, Luna received her first alternate 2D outfit to celebrate the holiday.

Himemori Luna Physical Description

Himemori Luna is a petite young girl with pink hair that fades to a shade of blue and also has heterochromatic eyes similar to Houshou Marin (Marine), though Luna’s eyes are purple and light green rather than yellow and red. Her main outfit consists of a fancy pastel pink and white dress that is decorated with various golden moon and star-themed accents. Her white sleeves are shaped like pieces of wrapped hard candy and the bottom of her dress is lined with French macarons. The outfit also includes a pair of mismatched pastel-colored thigh-high socks. Luna also has a crown on top of her head and wears a hair tie shaped like a large piece of candy.

Her New Year’s outfit, on the other hand, is a comparatively simple pink kimono that is decorated with crescent moons and stars. The kimono is tied with a pink checkerboard obi and has a dark knee-length skirt, a pair of tall, black socks, and matching boots. A fluffy, cream-colored neck warmer is also wrapped around her shoulders and over her chest. Although Luna’s hair is normally worn down, this outfit has her hair tied into a pair of braids and is decorated with a floral hair ornament. She also does not wear her crown, which reveals a small, crescent moon-shaped ahoge (cowlick) in its place.

Himemori Luna Personality

As the “princess of candy”, Luna often acts very spoiled and cutesy with other members of Hololive and with her viewers. While everyone generally agrees that she is very cute, there are some VTubers like Houshou Marine and Inuyama Tamaki that think her personality is almost sickeningly sweet at times. She can be quite clingy with others and is never afraid to seek their attention and affection. This is especially true with Natsuiro Matsuri, who gets along very well with Luna and has even formed a pair named “FestivalLuna” with her.

While Luna often acts overly cutesy with others, she also has a mischievous side that shows through every so often. She is very well aware that her personality gets on some people’s nerves and will purposefully exaggerate the way she acts specifically to annoy them. That said, Luna is said to be one of the calmest and most composed members of her generation, though instead of being panicked and nervous, Luna expresses frustration instead. This is easily seen whenever she plays incredibly competitive games or horror games.

Himemori Luna is one of the many VTubers that is managed by Hololive Production. This VTuber agency is owned by Cover Corporation and manages over 50 individual VTubers from various parts of the world, though its largest branch is based in Japan. Many VTubers managed by Hololive often stream their own content on their individual channels, but Hololive also organizes special events for its members to participate in as well. Luna is a member of Hololive’s 4th Generation, which debuted between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 and includes Amane Kanata, Kiryu Coco, Tsunomaki Watame, Tokoyami Towa, and Luna herself.

Although Luna plays a variety of games on her channel like Minecraft, APEX Legends, and various horror games, she primarily focuses on RPGs and retro games.

RPG Games

Luna is particularly fond of role-playing games and has played series like Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest, Yakuza, and Undertale on her channel in the past. Monster Hunter, however, is one of her favorite series, leading to many Monster Hunter Rise streams ever since its release on March 26th, 2021. Many believe her to be one of the better Monster Hunter players in Hololive.

Retro Games

While Inugami Korone is a member of Hololive that is known for playing retro games the most, Luna also plays a decent number of them on her channel as well. Most of the retro games Luna plays were developed for the Super Nintendo and include games like Panel de Pon (which has been localized as Tetris Attack in English), Super Metroid, and Dragon Quest V.
