Shirakami Fubuki - VTuber

Shirakami Fubuki is a Japanese VTuber that debuted with Hololive as a member of its 1st Generation but later transferred to Hololive GAMERS. In addition to her individual and collaborative VTuber activities, many other Hololive members and fans see Fubuki as an incredibly supportive figure that helps out a lot behind the scenes. This, as well as her viral short skits, has helped make her become one of the most popular Hololive VTubers there is.

Fubuki is a white fox girl that is well-known for her friendly personality and her willingness to take the initiative for various projects within Hololive. Furthermore, like many other members in Hololive, Fubuki hosts a variety of streams on her channel that include chats, watch parties of movies, and karaoke streams, though her most popular are often her gaming streams.

Shirakami Fubuki History

Shirakami Fubuki made her original YouTube debut on June 1st, 2018, the same day as Natsuiro Matsuri and Aki Rosenthal. On October 17th, she would reveal her 3D model, making her the first member of Hololive outside of the “0th Generation” to be capable of streaming in 3D. Then, in March 2019, Fubuki revealed that herself, Ookami Mio, and two new members, Inugami Korone and Nekomata Okayu, would be forming a new group called Hololive GAMERS in April. By the end of 2019, Fubuki had received her second Live2D outfit and celebrated her birthday with a solo 3D stream that showcased her first full-length original song, “Say Fanfare!”. In the following year, Fubuki would also receive a major update to her Live2D model and receive several new outfits for it as well.

Shirakami Fubuki Physical Description

As a humanoid fox girl, Shirakami Fubuki looks much like a young woman with white hair and light blue eyes, though she has a pair of tall, triangular fox ears and a black-tipped tail as well. Her original outfit consists of a white and black sailor-style uniform with light blue ribbons and a triangular window that shows off part of Fubuki’s stomach. The outfit also includes a pair of white detached sleeves, black shorts, a single black thigh-high sock, and black boots. Her long, snow-white hair is also tied into a ponytail with a black ribbon.

Prior to her major “2.0” Live2D update, she also had a casual outfit made up of a baggy white shirt with a white ribbon, a dark knee-length skirt, black thigh-high socks, and black boots. After her update, however, Fubuki has two alternate outfits to choose from. The first is a cyberpunk-style outfit that is reminiscent of her original outfit with the exception of a unique jacket that matches her outfit’s color palette. The jacket itself has several kinds of zippers and logos on it and is lined with fluffy blue and white fur along its hood. The other outfit for Fubuki’s new model is a somewhat formal dress consisting of a black and dark blue jacket, a gray skirt, white gloves, and white thigh-high socks.

Shirakami Fubuki Personality

Although Fubuki was an incredibly timid and clumsy girl when she originally debuted, she began showing more confidence as time continued to pass. Although she was always seen as an incredibly caring individual, her fans began to learn that Fubuki can be quite passionate about things like otaku culture and gacha games. Furthermore, Fubuki is one of the members that sometimes likes pushing the boundaries of what she can get away with, though not quite to the same degree as Kiryu Coco. This is seen particularly clearly whenever she advocates for more collaborations between the members of Hololive and its companion all-male branch, Holostars. After overcoming her timid nature, Fubuki quickly became a very important member of Hololive. Although she was originally a part of the 1st Generation along with Yozora Mel, Natsuiro Matsuri, Aki Rosenthal, and Akai Haato, she eventually transferred to the GAMERS generation and became the group’s leader, as she is the senior of the bunch.

Associated Company

Hololive Production is a VTuber agency owned by Cover Corporation and includes the all-female VTuber group Hololive, the all-male group Holostars, and a music label named INNK Music. Hololive makes up most of the agency by far and, as of April 2021, is comprised of seven generations of Japanese-speaking VTubers, two generations of Indonesian-speaking VTubers, and one wave of English-speaking VTubers (though applications for a second wave are currently being processed). Shirakami Fubuki is currently a part of Hololive GAMERS, which is a gaming-focused group that also includes Inugami Korone, Nekomata Okayu, and Ookami Mio.

As a member of Hololive GAMERS, Fubuki plays a wide range of video games on her stream, though some of the most notable series of hers in recent times includes games like Phasmophobia and Fall Guys

Phasmophobia

Phasmophobia is a game that is based on exploring haunted locations and learning what type of entity is causing trouble. While several other members of Hololive also played this particular game at some point, Fubuki went through a phase where she would grind levels in the game by going on solo expeditions, something that would be very difficult for inexperienced players to do.

Fall Guys

This online multiplayer obstacle course game also made its way around several Hololive members’ channels during the peak of its popularity in mid to late 2020. Fubuki was one of the members that played the game the most. Several months prior to her streams of Fall Guys, several fan-translated clips of Fubuki talking about various kinds of burgers went viral on YouTube. When paired with the burger skin in Fall Guys, fans began creating a plethora of memes of Fubuki dressed up in hamburger costumes that went viral themselves.
