Synopsis
Imagine if you were a cute high school girl going with three friends on a plane trip. The plane crashes and you and your friends are stranded on a deserted island! How would you survive? That’s the premise of Are You Lost?. This anime follows the lives of four girls as they do everything from eating insects, to setting animal traps. Think LOST and Castaway, but definitely more kawaii. Will they ever escape the island?
Background
Written by Kentaro Okamoto, Are you Lost? is a manga published in Weekly Young Magazine. It began serialization in January 2017 and is still ongoing, with three tankobon volumes released as of May 2019. The anime adaptation is scheduled to begin airing in July 2019. Animation is being handled by Ezóla while Nobuyoshi Nagayama is directing.
Characters
Homare Onishima (Voiced by: M.A.O)
Unlike the stereotypical timid high school girl, Homare is an experienced survivor of the wilds, having spent a part of her past traveling countries like Tanzania and Madagascar. The main character and leader of the four girls, she teaches and motivates the others how to survive by eating and capturing food. Homare has blonde hair that she keeps tied up in tiny twintails.
Asuka Suzumori (Voiced by: Hiyori Kono)
Asuka is the impulsive and athletic member of the survivors. While she didn’t do too well in class, she did excel in her extracurricular sports - basketball and track. She does not begin the story well-versed in survival techniques. She has a short brown bob haircut with a noticeable curl sticking out on top.
Mutsu Amatani (Voiced by: Kiyono Yasuno)
Mutsu is a bookworm and an honor student. The other girls look to her for her mathematical expertise. She wears glasses and has straight brown hair. Mutsu is a fan of BL and loves fantasizing.
Shion Kujo (Voiced by: Azumi Waki)
Shion comes from a well-to-do family and may be the least prepared for toughing it out in the wilderness. She gets anxious when she’s praised. Her hair is blonde and runs down to her waist.
