Synopsis

Hello World brings a new world to life that no one has seen before. The sci-fi time travel love story is set in Kyoto in the year 2027 and will feature familiar scenery and sights. Naomi Katagaki is a regular high school student. However, one day his future self from 10 years in the future appears before him on a mission. Together they must change the future to save Naomi’s classmate, Ruri, and open the doors to a new world.

Background

Hello World is an original anime being directed by Tomohiko Ito with scripts by Mado Nozaki, character designs by Yukiko Horiguchi, and anime production by Graphinica. The anime will be released in Japan on Sep. 20, 2019.

A manga adaptation by Manatsu Suzuki and Yoshihiro Sono is also in the works and will premiere in the August issue of Shueisha’s Ultra Jump magazine.

Naomi Katagaki (Voiced by: Takumi Kitamura (present self), Tori Matsuzaka (future self))

A 16-year-old high school student living in Kyoto and a member of his school’s book committee. His future self travels 10 years into the past to meet him.
