Gabriel Miller, known as Subtilizer in Gun Gale Online and Project Alicization 1/4(PA), and as an antagonist Vecta in PA for a time, is the chief tactical officer of Glowgen Defense Systems, and child of the company former president and founder. In GGO, he was the victor of the 1st and 4th Bullet of Bullets tournaments. He was also the field commander during the attack on the Ocean Turtle. He used the Soul Translator to enter Underworld.

Personality

Gabriel is goal-oriented, characterized by an utter lack of empathy, obsessed only with souls. He even murdered his childhood friend just to see if he could take a look at her soul leaving the body, and experimented on a large amount of animals for a similar purpose.

Background

Gabriel was born in the suburbs of Los Angeles, CA in 1998. His father was collecting insects, and Gabriel liked to examine them very much, and started thinking about what was making them move. His father showed him a video with mating praying mantises where losing the head did not prevent the male from moving. This further deepened Gabriel's curiosity about souls. He experimented by cutting off parts of the insects and concluded their souls were spread across their bodies. He then wanted to see the soul with his own eyes, but he could not find anything in insect experimentation.

Gabriel started considering exploring human souls instead. He knew humans could not live without their heads, so he decided their souls were in their brains. Gabriel had been thinking to marry his childhood friend Alicia Klingerman just to see if he could not get access to her soul that way, but in 2008, she had to move, so he acted. He invited her to his secret lab in the forests, and as they hugged, he killed her by holding her right ear while inserting a needle, one of those his father used on insects, into her left ear. As Alicia died, Gabriel saw a small glittering cloud at her forehead and thought that was her soul.

His obsession with souls kept growing, and he was into the FullDive technology for the reason that it had potential in exploring human souls. He went as far as to start learning Japanese and playing the VRMMORPGs, and proceeded to win two Japanese GGO Bullet of Bullets tournaments as Subtilizer, for the second time just stealthily getting within reach of their opponents by predicting the enemy's lines of thinking and making ambushes, then using the Army Combatative grappling skill to wrestle their weapons from their hands and shoot them with their own guns. During a tournament, he wondered aloud if his opponent's soul would be delicious.

Later, Glowgen Defense Systems was offered a contract the National Security Agency (NSA) to attack the Ocean Turtle and steal the Soul Translator technology. Gabriel accepted the contract and even personally led the strike team once he knew the Soul Translator was dealing with the human soul directly.

On site, Gabriel found the Soul Translator and decided to use it and see the virtual world for himself. He logged in as the virtual god of the Dark Territory, Vecta, who legends said had slept in his vault behind a magical lock.
