KoB

A thirty-strong and dependable clearing guild Asuna belonged to. Widely approved as the strongest guild in SAO, their leader rumored to have never lost more than half his health. Styled in red and white.

After the gruesome Floor 25 boss fight, many clearing players were dead, and the land needed a new inspiration. Their march on Floor 26, what with the bright and heroic uniforms and banners reminiscent of Knights Templar, the mighty fencer Asuna in their ranks, has become a great boost to the clearers' morale, and has been an irreplaceable heavy-hitter.

Prior to October 8, 2023, their headquarters were in Giltstein on Floor 25. Before October 15, they moved to a remote mansion near Nolfret on Floor 39. Since the mansion was getting crowded, their new residence is a steel tower in Granzam on Floor 55.

Heathcliff, the official guild master preferred delegating the guild's dealings to his sub-leaders.

LC

The infamous Player Killer (PK) orange quasi-guild that was so ruthless they came to be called the red guild, on par with monsters. Not a registered guild, so their names do not have the insignia, but every member has the same tattoo where a coffin has a face and smiles.

Leader: PoH

Most of the players were convinced it was just a game no matter what the Game Master had said, so they never realized they were murderers. PoH, however, had known the reality of their actions from the start.

A Murder Case in the Area

On April 19, 2024, Grimlock hired LC to murder Schmitt, Yolko, and Caynz to remove the leads pinning him for the murder of his wife. PoH, XaXa, and Johnny Black then caught the victims by Griselda's grave, but Kirito and his warning made PoH reconsider and leave.

By August 2024, LC had killed hundreds, and become the targets of the peace forces. The peace messengers were murdered, so the clearers found out where their hideout was and arrested or killed everyone. Kirito personally killed several vicious fighters out of the twenty-one deaths, with eleven clearers also killed. PoH managed to escape.

In October, 2024, on Floor 74, PoH watched Kirito duel Kuradeel. He approached the vengeful Kuradeel, took him in, and taught him how to make paralysis potion. An incident followed where both Asuna and Kirito almost died, but Kirito did what Asuna could not and finished off the rogue player.

MBC

A mid-level guild where all members but Kirito had been friends offline, and members of their school's computer club.

Red-Nosed Reindeer

On April 8, 2023, Kirito found the guild losing to a pack of monsters and lent them a hand, his level being two times higher than theirs. MBC were grateful and during a debriefing in an inn, asked what level he was, and Kirito lied to them saying it was their level. Then Kirito accepted the guild invitation, deciding he would protect the good guys until they become proficient enough.

A MBC member Sachi had a deep fear of death and had confided to Kirito, who assured her it would be all right.

On June 22, 2023, the guild bought their own player house, and decided to do a run on stronger enemies to celebrate while Keita was away making the purchase. They were clearing the Floor 27 Labyrinth and found a secret room with a treasure chest in it. They recklessly went in, and Kirito could not warn them in time; the party got trapped in an Anti-Crystal Area, and monsters flooded in. Kirito did not manage to save anyone but himself, as the guild was wiped out. Keita returned to find Kirito alone, cursed the "beater" and jumped off Aincrad.

Much later, Kirito received a timed voice message from Sachi, who told him not to worry, as she knew they would die soon, anyway, and sang him a cheer-up song.

SF

A less-known guild. Were massacred by Rosalia's orange guild Titan's Hand.

The Black Swordsman

Kirito mentioned SF briefly as he told Rosalia he had been hired to imprison her and Titan's Hand by the leader and survivor of the guild they had attacked.

TH

An orange guild committing crimes to attain advantage in the game.

Leader: Rosalia

Rosalia was the green player who would lure the victims under the swords of her ambushing guild. They robbed and killed their victims.

On February 24, 2024, TH attacked Silica and Kirito who had found the Pneuma Flower to resurrect Silica's tame creature she was attached to. Kirito had overleveled TH so much they could not make a dent in his hit points' auto regeneration all together. TH surrendered. Rosalia offered Kirito to take her side, and he refused, teleporting her to the Black Iron Palace dungeon.
