About Joseph Joestar

Joseph is the main character for Part 2, Battle tendency and the story follows the actions he takes to protect his family and friends. He also appears in Part 3, Stardust Crusaders as an old man and is a major supporting character. In Part 4, Diamond is Unbreakable he makes a short appearance as a minor character.

About Joseph Joestar: Background

When he was still young his father was killed by a vampire remnant and his mother went after the killer. After his mother defeated the murderer she had to go into hiding and pretended to have died and changed her name. Joseph was then raised by his grandmother and he doesn’t have any memories of his parents.

Joseph was raised as a gentleman by his grandmother Erina and she was quite strict. However, Erina wasn’t a character that allowed her friends to be humiliated and showed off her aggressive side. Joseph learned from his grandmother and would readily protect his friends and family when they were being threatened or being made fun of. Although Joseph was quite strong at a fight he could also use mysterious powers that would aid him. Joseph would unconsciously use his Hamon powers to beat up whoever had insulted him.

About Joseph Joestar: Abilities

In Part 2 Joseph only has his Hamon powers. He is able to fight well and come up with various battle tactics. Joseph trains his Hamon ability and is able to consciously use it during his fights. Hamon is greatly useful against vampires and the Pillar Men which he uses to defeat them. By infusing his Hamon into his attacks they create great shockwaves where the attack hits, causing great damage. In Part 2 he infuses Hamon into his clackers which he uses to deal a huge amount of damage.

In Part 3 Joseph awakens his Stand called Hermit Purple. It is in the shape of purple-colored vines with thorns on them. He is able to use Hermit purple as a weapon but it is not as strong compared to power-type Stands. His ability is spirit photography which allows him to see places far away for information. He smashes a polaroid camera which will then print a photo giving him the information he wants. He later develops the ability to use a TV to show the image he wants.

Other Important JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Characters
