About Eijiro Kirishima: Background

Kirishima is a selfless character obsessed with the concept of manliness. He will often measure people by their manliness and call people out if they are not manly. This manliness spectrum also gives a guide to who Kirishima respects and not. Those who show brave and determined attitudes will often move Kirishima, and he forms an admiration for the person.

His kind heart and selfless nature can be seen when he willingly puts himself in danger to protect his friends. Kirishima also proves to be loyal to his friends, is willing to break laws to help them, and resents himself when he cannot aid those close to him.

While he seems confident now, initially, he had very low self-esteem. When he was younger, he could not help two girls being attacked by a gigantic villain. This led to his low self-esteem, and he apologized to the girls for not being the hero he envisioned himself to be. However, he uses this experience to become more confident and strive to be the hero he aspires to be. When he started at U.A. High School, he reinvents himself to become closer to his ideal image of a hero.

About Eijiro Kirishima: Abilities

Eijiro Kirishima’s Quirk is Hardening. His Quirk allows him to harden or sharpen any of his body parts. As a result, he can turn his entire body into a weapon. However, there is a limit, and if he exceeds the limit, the Hardening will slowly disappear, and Kirishima will quickly lose his stamina. His Quirk also helps increase his physical strength, allowing him to break through most objects.

Kirishima is a very talented fighter. He placed second in the U.A. Entrance Exam. In particular, he has immense durability, even without his Quirk. Hence when his Quirk is activated, it is further amplified, and he almost turns into a human shield as he can block bullets.

Katsuki Bakugo and Eijiro are good friends and often are seen together. Despite Katsuki’s daunting appearance and aggressive attitude, the two are very close. The two get along well mainly due to Kirishima’s personality. His carefree attitude prevents him from being affected by Katuski’s aggressive behavior. Kirishima has a lot of respect for Katsuki and his manliness. Kirishima is the one who suggests the rescue mission to save Katsuki.

Deku (Izuku Midoriya)

Deku (Izuku Midoriya) and Eijiro are also classmates and good friends. Even before meeting each other, Kirishima has immense respect for Izuku and his willingness to fight against the Sludge Villain. The two work together to retrieve Katsuki from the League of Villains.

Denki Kaminari

These two are, in particular, close. They are often seen joking with each other. They were later assigned to work with the two and Katsuki. Although their personalities contrast each other, they all make it work.

Kendo Rappa

While Kendo is a villain, the two have mutual respect. The two face each other at the Shie Hassaikai Raid. Kendo had overwhelmed Kirishima, and it looked like he would lose. However, when he saw Fat Gum in danger, he overcame his doubts and insecurities and used himself as a shield to protect Fat Gum. Kendo highly respected Kirishima’s brave act and helped him heal so that they could face one another again. Kendo’s actions also earn Kirishima’s respect and motivates him to become stronger and more resistant with his Quirk.
