Synopsis
Bocchi Hitori suffers from severe social anxiety and finds it impossible to connect with other people. Her only friend, Kai Yawara, is going to a different middle school, and in an effort to make sure Bocchi won’t be lonely forever breaks off their friendship, setting Bocchi the challenge of making friends with her entire class before graduation.
Background
Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu is adapted from the four-panel gag manga by Katsuwo which has been running in Comic Dengeki Daioh “g” since 2013. The anime adaptation was announced on March 25, 2018.
Voice actresses Chisaki Morishita, Minami Tanaka, Akari Kito, and Yuko Kurose will sing the series’ opening theme “Hitori Bocchi no Monologue” in character, while Chiaki Morishita will perform the ending theme "Ne, Issho ni Kaero” as Bocchi Hitori.

Bocchi Hitori has extreme social anxiety and finds it almost impossible to talk to people. When her only friend Kai goes to a different middle school she sets Bocchi the challenge of making friends with everyone in her class before graduation or she will break up with her forever!
Nako Sunao (Voiced by: Minami Tanaka)
Nako Sunao sits in front of Bocchi in class and is the first friend she makes at her new school. She may seem a bit scary but is actually a kind person and very supportive of Bocchi in her quest to make new friends.
Aru Honsho (Voiced by: Akari Kito)
Aru Honsho is the vice class representative and a super reliable person who’s always smiling. However, her dependable persona is all an act and she’s actually a bit useless which is something only Bocchi and Nako know.
Rakita Sotoka (Voiced by: Yuko Kurose)
Rakita Sotoka came to Japan alone from another country and has blonde hair and blue eyes. She is a big fan of ninjas and half thinks Bocchi is one.
Kako Kurai (Voiced by: Kana Ichinose)
Kako Kurai is on the public morals committee and has a firm principle of not making friends with anyone in order to become strong and independent.
Teruyo Oshie (Voiced by: Minami Takahashi)
Teruyo Oshie is Bocchi’s class teacher and idolized by her students, though she is a little bit afraid of Nako!
Kai Yawara (Voiced by: Konomi Kohara)
Kai Yawara is Bocchi’s best friend from elementary school. She has a cheerful and bright personality and can talk sociably to anyone. Worried about Bocchi going on alone to a different high school, she set her the challenge of making friends with all her classmates before she graduates.
Ito Kurie
A classmate of Bocchi’s, Ito Kurie is also shy and is on the library committee. Her family home is a bookshop.
Peko Onaka
Peko Onaka is one of Bocchi’s classmates and is obsessed with sweets.
Hanako Yamada
Hanako Yamada is a classmate of Bocchi’s and a member of the tennis club.
Ino Kawai
Ino Kawai is the student representative of Bocchi’s class.
Mayo Ojosa
Mayo Ojosa is a classmate of Bocchi’s who comes from an extremely rich family.
Nosaki Futago
Nosaki is the elder of the Futago twins and a classmate of Bocchi’s.
Notsugi Futago
A classmate of Bocchi’s, Notsugi is the younger of the Futago twins.
Rau Minagawa
Rau Minagawa is the most popular girl in Bocchi’s class. She always wears an eye mask and everyone calls her “Mina.” She has been trying to make classes fun so that her only friend from elementary school, Ko Futo, won’t feel so nervous about coming.
Ko Futo
Ko Futo is a classmate of Bocchi’s who refuses to come to school after a traumatic experience in the cafeteria. She was best friends with Rau in elementary school.
