Ultraman
Synopsis
Several years after the events of Ultraman, the “Giant of Light” is believed to have returned home after defeating the aliens that threatened the Earth. With the Earth once again in jeopardy, Shinjiro, the son of Shin Hayata, has discovered his father’s secret identity and realised that he too has special abilities, becoming the new Ultraman to battle the new alien threat!
Background
Based on the manga by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi, the Ultraman anime adaptation was announced in the January 2018 issue of Shogakukan’s Monthly Hero’s magazine. The 3DCG anime is being co-directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki and co-produced by Production I.G and Sola Digital Arts. The anime will premiere worldwide on Netflix in April 2019.

Shinjiro Hayata (Voiced by: Ryohei Kimura)
Shinjiro Hayata is the son of previous Ultraman, Shin Hayata. Discovering he has inherited Ultraman powers, he puts on the suit to help his dad, battling the alien threat.
Shin Hayata (Voiced by: Hideyuki Tanaka)
Shinjiro’s father, Shin Hayata is now the minister of defence. He once protected the Earth as Ultraman, but has lost all his memories of his superhero past.
Mitsuhiro Ide (Voiced by: Ken Uo)
Mitsuhiro Ide is the head of the Giant of Light museum and former member of the Science Special Search Party. He gave Shinjiro the Ultraman suit and explained his hidden past to him.
Alien Zetton Edo (Voiced by: Shigeru Ushiyama)
Alien Zetton Edo is the last surviving member of the Alien Zetton race which was otherwise wiped out during the last Earth invasion.
Dan Moroboshi (Voiced by: Takuya Eguchi)
Dan Moroboshi is an alien with a human appearance attached to the Science Special Search Party. He wears the same Ultraman 7 suit as Shinjiro.
Akiko Fuji (Voiced by: TBA)
Akiko Fuji is Moroboshi’s superior officer.
Seiji Hokuto (Voiced by: Megumi Han)
Sixteen-year-old Seiji Hokuto is a classmate of Shinjiro’s who has prosthetic limbs following being injured in a plane crash and now wears the Ultraman Ace suit.
Rena Sayama (Voiced by: Sumire Morohoshi)
Rena Sayama is the stage name of Rena Endo, a popular idol singer around Shinjiro’s age. She claims to be an Ultraman fan but secretly harbors resentment towards him because her mother was killed during the alien invasion. However having been rescued by Shinjiro as Ultraman, her feelings begin to change.
Jack (Voiced by: Ryota Takeuchi)
Jack is a human living in the Alien City who possesses immense strength and acts as an informant to Moroboshi.
Yosuke Endo (Voiced by: Eiji Hanawa)
Yosuke Endo is a police detective who investigates alien crimes. He is also the real father of Rena Seyama.
Kurata (Voiced by: Hirokazu Sekido)
Kurata is a junior detective working with Endo.
Alien Sukuruda Adad (Voiced by: Kenjiro Tsuda)
Alien Sukuruda Adad is an alien who invaded Rena Sayama’s concert.
Shiraishi (Voiced by: Minoru Shiraishi)
Shiraishi is Rena Sayama’s manager. He worries about Rena’s irresponsible behavior.
Bemlar (Voiced by: Kaiji Soze)
Bemlar is a mysterious alien who made a sudden attack on Shinjiro and Hayata.
Ace Killer (Voiced by: TBC)
Ace Killer is a mercenary employed by the Star Cluster Council to assassinate Seiji Hokuto.
