Synopsis
An age of exploration returns to the world as a new continent appears in the middle of the Pacific Ocean - Magmell. It’s a new world filled with undiscovered and never-before-seen plants, animals, and resources, attracting explorers from far and wide. But disasters are bound to happen, and that’s where Inyo comes in. Him and other mysterious young men like him make a living as relief workers who offer aid to explorers in need. But in this line of work, it’s one disaster after another!
Background
Magmell of the Sea Blue is a manga by Chinese manga artist Dainenbyo that was launched in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ manga app in June 2015. Four collected tankobon volumes have been published to date.
The anime adaptation is being produced at Pierrot with Hayato Date directing, Chuji Mikasano in charge of scenario organization, and Meiji Ishii handling character designs. The ending theme song is “The Key” by A Flood of Circle. The anime will premiere in Japan in April 2019.
Characters
Inyo (Voiced by: Kengo Kawanishi)
A young man who holds the number 1 rescue success rate among Anglers. He is aloof from the world and mysterious.
Zero (Voiced by: M.A.O)
Inyo’s assistant, Zero uses her vast knowledge to support Inyo and also looks after him in his everyday life.
Emilia (Voiced by: Hibiku Yamamura)
Emilia forms a relationship with Inyo beginning with commissioning him for her father’s rescue.
Shuin (Voiced by: Toshiyuki Morikawa)
Inyo’s master, Shuin is a man of many mysteries.
