Synopsis

Kana Kojima - feared by students as “Demon Kojima,” she’s a teacher with a frightening reputation. But around third-year student Ichiro Sato she’s an airhead and total ditz. Now Ichiro can’t seem to stop finding himself in perverted situations with Kana in the men’s bathroom, the laundromat, the pool, the infirmary...what’s a hormone-raging adolescent guy to do?!

Background

Nande Koko ni Sensei ga!? is a manga series written and illustrated by Soborou. The series launched in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine in 2015 as a series of one-shots. It began serialization in the same magazine in 2016. As of March 2019, six collected tankobon volumes have been published.

An anime adaptation was announced in October 2018 in the 44th issue of Weekly Young Magazine. The series is being produced at Tear Studio with Hiraku Kaneko serving as chief director and Toshikatsu Tokoro directing, Yiki Takabayashi and Yuri Fujimaru penning the script, and Kazuhiko Tamura handling the character designs. The opening theme song will be "Bon Kyu— Bon wa Kare no Mono" by Sumire Uesaka. The anime will premiere in Japan on April 8, 2019 on Tokyo MX and BS11.

Characters

Ichiro Sato (Voiced by: Ryota Suzuki)

A third-year high school student. He runs into Kojima-sensei in all kinds of places and always get into trouble. He’s the type to bend easily to other people’s wants. He has already passed his university tests and is just waiting to graduate.

Kana Kojima (Voiced by: Sumire Uesaka)

A Japanese teacher, Kana is called “Demon Kojima” by students to her dismay due to her intimidating air. She often gets Sato involved in trouble of some kind. She is good at cooking and enjoys taking the initiative with it comes to housework like cleaning.

Takashi Takahashi (Voiced by: Kazutomi Yamamoto)

A first-year high school student, Takashi is the student council treasurer. He has lived next to Hazakura-sensei since he was young and calls her “Hika Ane” outside of school. He wishes he was taller and manlier.

Chizuru Tachibana (Voiced by: Nozomi Yamamoto)

A special ed teacher, Chizuru is called “Absolute Zero Tachibana” for her ability to be able to freeze a room with just a word. She has a cool personality and always keeps a poker face, making it impossible to tell what she is thinking.

Hikari Hazakura (Voiced by: Shizuka Ishigami)

A P.E. teacher, Hikari is called “Too Wild Hazakura” for being mischievous and doing as she pleases. She is well liked by the students. She is an advisor to the student council and swim team.

Rin Suzuki (Voiced by: Toshiki Masuda)

A second-year high school student, Rin has both brains and brawn with the personality to back it up. However, due to his large physique and brutish looks the other students are afraid of him. His only friend is Ichiro. He has respect for Mayu for being a kind teacher and always willing to lend an ear.

Mayu Matsukaze (Voiced by: Yuko Goto)

An art teacher, Mayu is well liked by her students, who call her “Mother Matsukaze” due to her kind personality.

Ko Tanaka (Voiced by: Yusuke Kobayashi)

A third-year high school student, Ko is the former student council president. He went to middle school with Ichiro and Rin. With three months left until he graduates, he has declared that he will make a girlfriend before then.
