Alternate Title

ガーリー・エアフォース

Synopsis

2015 - mysterious flying creatures known as Zai suddenly appear over central Asia. Endowed with fighting power that vastly outperforms any existing aircraft, nations soon find themselves taking heavy damage. In order to fight back, humanity creates fighter aircraft called “Daughters” as well as automatic fighting machines called “Anima,” which take the form of human girls.

Two years later, a fleet heading for Japan is attacked by Zai off the coast of Shanghai. During his escape to a lifeboat, Kei Narutani witnesses a fighter-like aircraft shooting down Zai. However, the aircraft is shot down and crashes into the sea nearby. Driven by an urge to help save the pilot who saved him, Kei leaps into the sea and succeeds in reaching the aircraft. But this particular aircraft is like none he has ever seen, and when he opens the cockpit expecting to see a pilot he is instead greeted by a delicate and petite girl...
