Synopsis

Kautz is a young man who leaves his hometown in search of a job and comes across a posting for an armorer who is hiring. He arrives at the shop to discover that it’s not your run-of-the-mill armor shop but an adult armor shop that specializes in sexy armor! Upon peeking into the store, he sees the store’s owner, a man named Naaden, and his daughter Ririetta doing something suspicious. After learning from them that the shop is in dire straits and is on the verge of bankruptcy, he decides to help out as a clerk to get the store back on its feet.

Background

Armor Shop for Ladies & Gentlemen began as a four-panel manga written by Fumi Ayamiya. It has been serialized since September 2017 on Comic Smart’s webcomic distribution site Ganma! The first season of the anime adaptation was produced by IMAGICA Lab and ran from October to December 2018. Each episode was 4 minutes long. A three-episode follow-up titled Armor Shop for Ladies & Gentlemen (Backside) was released on the dAnime Store in March 2019 and featured characters from other Ganma! series including Reset Game, Hazureta Minna no Atama no Neji, and Debiruchi. The second season of the anime is also being produced by IMAGICA Lab and sees returning staff members including Junichi Yamamoto as director and series composer, Kosuke Iwanaga as character designer, and Tsuyoshi Fukumoto as art director. The anime premiered on Jan. 2, 2021 and will run for 12 episodes.

Characters

Kautz (Voiced by: Mark Ishii)
Kautz is the protagonist of the story whose hometown is the village of Rubon. Though he doesn’t have any special skills and is aware of his ineffectiveness, he leaves his hometown in order to find a job. After being saved from a large slime, he arrives to an armor shop to deliver a lost item and becomes an employee after he learns that the shop is having financial difficulties.

Ririetta (Voiced by: Nao Toyama)
Ririetta is the poster girl of the armor shop and the daughter of its owner, Naaden. She meets Kautz after rescuing him from a large slime. She isn’t very familiar with the concepts of profit and loss, and doesn’t have much common sense.

Naaden (Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai, MAO (child))
Naaden is the good-looking 29-year-old owner of the armor shop. He has an eccentric personality and a penchant for making sexy armor that he hopes all female adventurers will one day wear. He has an exceptional eye for creating sexy armor, but his shop is on the verge of bankruptcy due to a lack of profits.

Mokuku (Voiced by: Nichika Omori)
Mokuku is a member of the Rabitta tribe who befriended Kautz when he was still living in his home village and has been with him ever since. She has a symbol on her apron that distinguishes her from others from her tribe.

Furearika (Voiced by: Mikako Komatsu)
Furearika is a regular customer at the armor shop. Like Ririetta, she is a beautiful girl with a voluptuous chest. She is a famous swordswoman in town and is known as “Brave Beauty of
Raging Fire.” When it comes to armor, she prioritizes functionality and prefers to wear Naaden’s sexy armor. She enjoys trying to seduce Kautz just to see his naive reactions.

Rose Lohe (Voiced by: Chiaki Takahashi)
Rose was Naaden’s mentor when he was a kid. She is a sexy woman known as “Master Lohe” who taught Naaden the importance of sexiness.

Miina (Voiced by: Azumi Waki)
Miina is a regular at the armor shop. She flat-chested and is nicknamed “Elegant Mad of Absolute Zero*. She gets along well with Naaden due to also having a penchant for sexy armor.

Selas (Voiced by: Yumiri Hanamori)
Selas is an elven soldier stationed at a customs checkpoint. He has a slender build and alluring features. He is disgusted by Naaden’s foolishness but cherishes him as a friend.

Mamori (Voiced by: Ai Furihata)
Talking armor.

Mao (Voiced by: Enako)
Mao is a demon lord who looks like a young girl with horns and has exceptional magical powers. She is searching for Naaden to get back something that he stole from her. She attaches “nari” to the end of her sentences when she talks.

Mokorin (Voiced by: Risei Moritomo)
A film spirit.
