Idolls! Idol Survival

Synopsis

Aina, Ami, Shiori, and Ruka are four girls trying to make their dreams of becoming an idol a reality as they work hard to fill the 100-person capacity live house they perform at.

Background

Idolls! Idol Survival is an original TV anime project by animation studio Shin-Ei Animation and voice talent agency 81 Produce. The series will make use of 3D animation and motion capture in order to capture realistic movements. The four main cast members (Aina Ruto, Ami Mizuno, Shiori Hanaoka, and Ruka Yashiro) are all new voice actresses chosen through the “Idolls Project” auditions, which took place on the YouTube channel “What Sei You?”, which was jointly launched by Shin-Ei Animation and 81 Produce. The four members were selected from 84 voice actresses during a final public audition on March 31, 2020. The anime premieres Jan. 8, 2021 on BS Asahi.

The project also includes the web shows Idolls! No Study 4U, which began on Oct. 3, 2020 and is broadcast on the first Saturday of every month on YouTube Live and Nico Nico Live, and Idoll! Namahouso, which began on Oct. 4, 2020 and is broadcast every Sunday on YouTube Live and NIco Nico Namahouso.

Ami is the type who acts before she thinks, and she is very expressive with her emotions. She is easily bored and has several part-time jobs while she continues to work as an idol.

Shiori is cute and sharp-tongued. She tends to act freely without reading the air, but is forgiven due to her cuteness.

Birthplace: Tochigi Prefecture
Ruka is cool and mysterious, and she has an intellectual appearance and tone. However, she has a strange way of thinking and often speaks out of turn.
