Synopsis

The music city of MIDICITY is home to many unique bands all vying for stardom to make their dreams come true. Follow the members of Masumairesh!!, Plasmagica, DOKONJOFINGER, SHINGANCRIMSONZ, and more as they take the stage to share their music story and make history!

Background

Show By Rock!! Stars!! is the fourth season of the anime adaptation. It is being produced by Kinema Citrus with ENGI handling CG production, Takahiro Ikezoe as chief director, Daigo Yamagishi as director, Touko Machida handling the script, Tomokatsu Nagasaku, Nobuyuki Ito, and Masaru Oshiro handling the character designs, and Takanashi, Funta7, Akiya Suzuki handling the music. The opening theme song is "Do Re Mi Fa STARS!!" by Plasmagica and Mashumairesh!!, and the ending theme song is "Hoshizora Light Story" by Mashumairesh!!. It premiered on Tokyo MX and BS11 on Jan. 7, 2021 and is being streamed in North America by Funimation.

Masumairesh!!

Ruhuyu (Voiced by: Aya Yamane)
Ruhuyu is a girl from the wolf girl tribe. She is cheerful, energetic, athletic, and an honor student. She is devoted and caring, and she trusts those around her. However, she also has a rebellious side.

Howan (Voiced by: Hikaru Tohno)
Howan is a whitish fox girl born and raised in a small village in northern Japan. She dreams of going to the city someday and is hoping something wonderful happens to her. She is very curious and always tries her best. She is good-natured and has a soft demeanor but is also strong-willed and hates to lose.

Delmin (Voiced by: Misaki Watada
Delmin is a petite girl from the Devil Mint demon dragon tribe. She lives alone in an old apartment for some reason. She always carries around her plushie of Onigiri Kumaman. She doesn’t have many friends. She is a confident cook and she is also serious, cool, and studious. She is good at games that require high concentration.

Himeko Mashima (Voiced by: Yuko Natsuyoshi)
Himeko is a girl of the striped cat tribe. Her characteristic trait is her striped twintails. She loves music and has been practicing since she was a child. She is strong-willed, insecure, angry, secretive, sensitive, and lonely. She has a secret hobby that she can’t tell anyone about.

Plasmagica

Moa (Voiced by: Ayane Sakura)
Moa is a natural, mysterious, and high-tension space sheep girl from another galaxy. She has a cosmic music sense and is the most skilled of the members. She is quick to speak her mind and sometimes gets her bandmates into trouble.

Cyan (Voiced by: Eri Inagawa)
Cyan is a cat girl who plays a heart-shaped guitar called “Strawberry Heart,” which is rumored to be a legendary instrument. She becomes a member of Plasmagica after Maple sees her talent on guitar.

Retoree (Voiced by: Manami Numakura)
Retoree is an internet geek and smartphone addict from the dog tribe. She pretends to be cool but is actually very shy. She gets really happy and starts talking fast when talking about something she’s good at.

ChuChu (Voiced by: Sumire Uesaka)
ChuChu is a girl from the bunny tribe. She is an honor student who is reliable, sociable, and cute. She is the leader of the band and her bandmates trust her. She is serious about music and practices every day.

DOKONJOFINGER

Yasu (Voiced by: Kent Ito)
Yasu is a boy from the Yatagarasu tribe and the son of a bento shop owner who grew up eating bento. He is unsociable, has bad eyesight, and is short. He easily gets tangled up with delinquents but fights them off using his signature move, “Death Cross Counter.” He became famous in his hometown as “Yatogarasu’s God of Death.” He often clashes with his bandmates.

Hacchin (Voiced by: Shohei Komatsu)
Hacchin is a fashionable boy from the buzzing bee tribe. He is thin and quick. He is impatient and rambunctious but his intentions are pure. He rebels against his parents and enjoys the nightlife.

Joe (Voiced by: Yuki Ono)
A frail and weak man of the phoenix tribe. He is physically weak, but is extremely strong in fighting and mentally. He has been in and out of the hospital for many years and came of age a few years ago. Congratulations. He has the kind of wildness that makes men fall in love with him, and the righteousness that never betrays his friends. He is a member of the sixth grade ash class at DO Neshinboku Academy. He is a member of the sixth-year Ash Group of the DO Gutsy North Academy. He recommends getting plenty of sleep.

Joe is a frail and weak boy from the phoenix tribe. Though physically weak, he has a strong mind and strong fighting spirit. He has been in and out of the hospital for many years. He enjoys getting plenty of sleep.

Sojun (Voiced by: Yusuke Shirai)
Sojun is a pompous boy from the lion-dog tribe. He has golden curly hair and emerald eyes that mesmerize anyone who sees them. Though tall and slender, he is very strong. He doesn’t care what he has to do to win and doesn’t care what others think of him.

SHINGANCRIMSONZ

Crow (Voiced by: Kisho Taniyama)
Crow is a boy from the hedgehog tribe who knows no fear. He believes himself to be the coolest and most popular person in the world. He goes full throttle at live performances, exploding with massive sound and sharp vocals that make listeners shiver.

Aion (Voiced by: Kouki Uchiyama)
Aion is a handsome boy from the lion tribe. He behaves strangely, is socially awkward, and is always mumbling to himself. However, he has many female fans who are enamored by his good looks and genius guitar technique.

Yaiba (Voiced by: Tetsuya Kakihara)
Yaiba is a boy from the fox tribe who respects bushido and the spirit of rock. He pretends to be an outlaw loner but he’s really lonely and petty. His bass playing is top-notch.

Rom (Voiced by: Yoshimasa Hosoya)
Rom is an overbearing boy from the leopard tribe. He is the leader of SHINGANCRIMSONZ and has a passionate personality. He is thin and macho, and often takes off his clothes during concerts. He also works as an office worker.

REIJINGSIGNAL

Rararin (Voiced by: Lynn)
Rararin is an interesting and beautiful girl from the fierce caracal tribe. She has longed to be a top artist and has been participating in contests since she was a child. She used to perform under a different name but now collaborates with the other members in order to pursue her own dream.

Uiui (Voiced by: Minori Suzuki
Uiui is a beautiful and cool girl from the snow rabbit tribe. She grew up in faraway northern Europe where she used to ice skate every day. Seeing a live band for the first time triggers her longing for music.

Sumomone (Voiced by: Yu Serizawa)
Sumomone is a beautiful and sexy girl from the flying squirrel tribe. She is in charge of healing and sexiness. Her mother used to be an actress, so she has seen the entertainment world up close since she was a child, and she is skilled at attracting males. She likes to use her charms to manipulate others.

Criticrista

Tsukino (Voiced by: Ai Kayano)
Tsukino is a girl from the Asian black bear tribe and is the keyboardist of the group. She used to live on a mountain and is not very familiar with the world. She has absolute pitch and produces the band’s high-quality melodies. She can be absent-minded and is usually thinking about food.

Holmy (Voiced by: Hiromi Igarashi)
Holmy is a girl from the cow tribe and the bassist of the group. She is also the student council president. She has a serious and troubled personality but is hardworking.

Jacklyn (Voiced by: Rie Murakawa)
Jacklyn is a girl from the tadpole tribe and the drummer of the group. She is also the vice president of the student council. She has a cheerful, energetic, and kind personality and is trusted by her bandmates.

Rosia (Voiced by: Rina Hidaka)
Rosia is a guitarist from the purineko tribe and the secretary and treasurer of the student council. Despite her selfish personality, she has a way of winning the hearts of fans.

Tsurezurenaru Ayatsuri Mugenan

Un (Voiced by: Eriko Matsui)
Un was born and raised in the Far East by a musical instrument maker. He is A’s childhood friend. He has a cheerful personality. He takes care of musical instruments with ease. He is in a band in order to spread the unique “Far East Sound” to MIDICITY. He usually hides his face with a hat.

Darudayu (Voiced by: Megumi Han)
Darudayu is a mysterious drummer who looks like a Dharma doll and has been on a wandering journey. Rumors say that he hides his true form inside the Dhama. After meeting A and Un on the road he feels a strange connection to them and forms a band. He loves to travel.

A (Voiced by: Saori Hayami)
A was born and raised by a warrior family in the Far East. He is Un’s childhood friend. He has an earnest nature and is often teased by his master, Darutayu. He is in a band in order to spread the unique “Far East Sound” to MIDICITY. He usually hides his face with a hat.

Trichronika

Riku (Voiced by: Ayumu Murase)
Riku is Kai’s younger twin brother and is a rookie artist who belongs to the major idol label Judas. He is studious and serious.

Shu☆Zo (Voiced by: Mamoru Miyano)
Shu☆Zo is the top talent of the major idol label Judas. He is the frontman of Trichronika. He has a sweet voice and looks like a galactic prince. He used to be the vocalist in a certain V-kei band.

Kai (Voiced by: Ryota Ohsaka)
Kai is Riku’s older twin brother and is a rookie artist who belongs to the major idol label Judas. He always watches over Riku and has great respect for Shu☆Zo.

BUD VIRGIN LOGIC

Peipain (Voiced by: Aimi Tanaka)
Peipain is a girl from the dark giraffe tribe and is the bassist of BUD VIRGIN LOGIC. She was taken in by a mysterious foundation when she was a child and has been serving Ailane as a maid. She has a calm personally and remains unphased by anything. She has a lot of weapons hidden in her skirt.

Hundreko (Voiced by: Ibuki Kido)
Hundreko is a white tiger Myumondroid girl who was developed in secret by a mysterious foundation. She is unsociable but sometimes she has a subtle smile on her face.

Ailane (Voiced by: Ruriko Noguchi)
Ailane is a girl from the king lion tribe who looks up to everyone. She has charismatic good looks, a strong way of speaking, and the air of royalty. She has been trained in music and imperial studies since she was a child. She is a bit of a klutz and often falls down and drops things.

Argon (Voiced by: Chiharu Sawashiro)
Argon is a boy from the gazelle tribe and the drummer of the band. His hobbies are dancing, weight training, and buying companies.

Selen (Voiced by: Eishin Fudemura)
Selen is a boy from the sheep tribe and the bassist of the band. He is the son of the chairman of a major label group and has a deep knowledge of music. He loves to talk about bands that no one else knows.

Orion (Voiced by: Taku Yashiro)
Orion is a boy from the G-bison tribe and a violinist who is heir to a prestigious family fortune. He is also the leader of ARCAREAFACT. He has solved every problem in his life with money and charisma.

Titan (Voiced by: Yusuke Kobayashi)
Titan is a vocal pianist from the blue unicorn tribe. His parents are famous musicians. He hates to lose and has been working hard since he was a child. He appears cool and poker-faced, but inside he is passionate and easily gets heated.

Yokazenohorizon

Rikao (Voiced by: Makoto Furukawa)
Rikao is a boy from the African wild dog tribe and is a vocalist and bassist. He is also a lawyer by profession. He has intimidating eyes and gives up an unapproachable vibe, but he is actually very shy and blushes whenever he is complimented.
