OtapediaJin (Vocaloid producer)

Jin (born October 20, 1990) is a Japanese musician, music producer, novelist, and scriptwriter. He is currently affiliated with 1st PLACE.

About the Artist

Jin was born in Rishiri Island, Hokkaido, Japan. After being influenced by his uncle, he started playing the keyboard at the age of 6. Since then, he has now become proficient in guitar and has a Fender Stratocaster and Gibson SG for use in his music.
In 2011, Jin released his first original song featuring Hatsune Miku, Artificial Enemy (人造エネミー, Jinzou Enemy), on Niconico. Jin's producer name, "Natural Enemy P" (自然の敵P, Shizen no Teki P) comes from this song. He also announced the Kagerou Project, for which he wrote the lyrics and associated story. In 2012, Jin released a short novel titled Kagerou Daze -in a daze- which he had written.
On May 30, 2012, his first album Mekakucity Daze was released and debuted at 6th place on the Oricon Weekly charts. His first single, Children Record debuted at 3rd in the Singles charts. For these efforts, Jin was awarded one of the top 5 new artists for the 27th Japanese Gold Disc Awards.
One year later, on May 29, 2013, his second album Mekakucity Records debuted at 1st.
At the end of 2015, Jin performed for a second time at the end-of-year music festival "COUNTDOWN JAPAN 15/16" at Makuhari Messe, Chiba to a crowded hall.
Jin mainly uses Hatsune Miku, Aoki Lapis, and IA for his vocals, though in recent years has stopped using Hatsune Miku in favor of IA. Much like how Crypton Future Media created and owns Hatsune Miku, 1st Place, to which he is a member, created and owns the Vocaloid IA.
His songs are popular due to their catchy tunes and thought-provoking lyrics. He is the only Vocaloid producer to have 15 songs break the million view barrier on Nico Nico Douga.

Kagerou Project

The Kagerou Project, also known as "Kagerou Daze" or "Kagerou Days", is a Japanese mixed-media project. It started as a Vocaloid song series featuring Hatsune Miku about the Mekakushi Group, a team of young people with unusual eye-related powers, created by Jin. The series became popular on the video-sharing website Nico Nico Douga after the release of the music video and song for Kagerou Daze, which also gave the series its name. On January 6, 2012, the song reached its first million views on the platform, and on August 15, 2012, it reached 2 million views. The song has currently amassed over 3 million views and is the most popular song of the project. Another song from the same project, Mekakucity Code (Blindfold Code) featuring the vocals of Hatsune Miku, was his 7th song to reach 1 million views on Nico Nico Douga, a first for any Vocaloid producer at the time.
Later, eight light novels, written by Jin and illustrated by Sidu, and a manga adaptation, also written by Jin and with artwork by Mahiro Satou, were also published. In addition to the novels, a manga version of the same story was released which depicts the stories from different perspectives. The books and manga have since sold over 7.8 million copies.
In 2014, a 12-episode anime adaptation titled Mekakucity Actors aired from April 12 to June 28. The anime series was directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, scripted by Jin and animated by Shaft. The series was praised by fans worldwide for showing the Kagerou Project in a beautifully-animated format.
