OtapediaPinocchioP (Vocaloid producer)

PinocchioP (ピノキオピー) is a music producer, illustrator and character designer. He works for P._nc (pronounced pink) and is signed to the label, U/M/A/A (pronounced yuma). His producer name comes from his first song "Hanauta", which means "humming" but can be translated literally as "nose song". The thumbnail for "Hanauta" is an image of Hatsune Miku with an extremely long nose, which led on to become PinocchioP gaining his producer name.

About the Artist

He produces songs using Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, MAYU and GUMI, draws his own illustrations and writes his own lyrics. His songs tend to be fast-paced and catchy and often feature thought-provoking lyrics that discuss social issues.

From 2012 to 2015, PinocchioP launched 6 independent albums to great success and held his first live concert to a sold-out arena. He also helped produce songs in Konami's music game "SOUND VOLTEX BOOTH" and had music featured in various commercials.
From 2016, PinocchioP provided music for Secret of Mana 2, Caligula Overdose, and the action-puzzle game Crash Fever. He released his 3rd major album HUMAN and also his 7th independent album Proliferation of Imamura (増殖する今村, Zoushoku suru Imamura). His music was also used as the promotional theme song for convenience store chain NewDays, and the light novel Breaking up with my younger sister (妹、分裂する, Imouto, Bunretsu suru).

PinocchioP started DJing professionally and traveled to Indonesia's Comic-Con 2017 to play a heavily Vocaloid-centric set in front of hundreds of people, he toured across Japan with fellow Vocaloid producer Sasakure.UK., and in 2018, he performed at the concert Star of Asia in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

During his live performances, he will have a typical rock band formation set up, but often includes a DJ booth as well as DJ hardware which allows instant samples at the press of a button. His performances are very energetic and he can often be seen dancing vigorously on stage.
He has created two original characters Aimaina-chan (アイマイナちゃん) and Doushite-chan (どうしてちゃん). "Aimai" translates to "ambiguous", while "Doushite" means "why" in English. These two characters frequently appear in the videos for PinocchioP's songs and symbolize the ambiguity and doubts that people hold towards the particular issue that is the theme of that song. He likes and is influenced by Japanese bands such as Spitz, Magokoro Brothers, and particularly admires the works of Denki Groove.

PinocchioP and Hatsune Miku

PinocchioP first began sharing Vocaloid music online in 2009 and made his major debut in 2012 with his first album "Obscure Questions". Always having been interested in electronic sounds and music discussing human nature, he was initially greatly shocked when heard Agoaniki's song "Double Lariat", which had Vocaloid vocals contrasted by a band sound and very human lyrics. PinocchioP makes music Vocaloid music in a wide variety of styles, ranging from dance music, Shibuya-kei to rock.

PinocchioP has been releasing new Vocaloid songs regularly over the course of his music career and has participated in quite a few collaborations and live events, including events where he himself sings his songs alongside Hatsune Miku. In 2016, he also drew a character for the Toyota Prius, PRIUS! IMPOSSIBLE GIRLS car anthropomorphization campaign.

One of his most crowning achievements was to produce the music for THE END, an opera with Hatsune Miku as the leading character and no humans or orchestra. The music used in the opera was darker in tone and suited the central idea that Hatsune Miku, an android, wanted to know if she could really die.

Additionally, his limited-edition SONY h.ear on (MDR-100A) Hatsune Miku Model PRODUCER MODEL (PinocchioP) headphones, which he illustrated, went on sale in 2016 and sold out within a week.
