About Rogue

Rogue’s story is one of heartbreak, love, and struggle. Fighting to not only maintain her sanity but move on with her life, here is a more in-depth look!

Background

Rogue was born into a hippie community in Mississippi under the name of Anna Marie. The commune attempted to use Native American mysticism which resulted in the disappearance of her mother. From there, she was raised by her Aunt and Father, both of whom she didn’t have a good relationship. Rogue took means into her own hands and ran away. She uncovered her powers a little later, along with the realization that she literally couldn’t touch anyone. Her envy and bitterness were turned into anger, so she joined the Brotherhood of evil mutants, even fighting the X-Men. She accidentally permanently absorbed the powers of Ms. Marvel, even absorbing some of her mentality into her own. To deal with the voices in her head, she turned to Professor X and even joined the X-Men. That is where she met Gambit, and they fell in love with more to come.

Special Abilities

Rogue’s special ability is to absorb the power and life force from others by making direct contact. What she couldn’t foresee is that she also absorbed the person’s thoughts, ideas, and memories. When she absorbed someone’s powers, she can then use those powers as if they were her own.

Other Important X-Men Characters

As an X-Men, Rogue interacts with the majority of the cast such as Cyclops and other main characters. However, her love and future husband, Gambit is one of the most important characters to Rogue. Also important to her is Magneto, her one-time savior.

Remy LaBeau - Gambit

Starting off his life abandoned as a baby because of his red eyes, Remy found himself in an orphanage in New Orleans. There he was taken in by a street gang and learned their ways until the leader of the gang adopted him. He was supposed to marry the daughter of the Assassin’s gang leader, but her brother opposed, trying to kill Remy. Remy killed him in self-defense and was exiled from New Orleans. However, he needed help controlling his powers so he went to Mr. Sinister who removed a part of his brain. After, he tried working for Mr. Sinister, who tried to get him to commit a massacre. Instead, he tried to save them, but only saved one girl. From there he met Storm, who would sponsor his entry into the X-Men where he met Rogue.

Max Eisenthardt - Magneto

The man is known as the singular most powerful mutant on Earth. He also would spontaneously propose to Rogue mid-fight. They had a brief relationship when a powerless Rogue was saved by him in the Savage Land. She promised him only one night, but then when they met later they had a brief relationship. Seeing as Rogue would marry Gambit, she obviously turned down Magneto but not before sharing a passionate kiss.
