OtapediaCaroline and Justine Persona 5 - Figures

Within the Persona franchise, the Velvet Room and its various attendants serve as both a constant and source of change. In Persona 5, players interact with Caroline and Justine, twin prison wardens with an intense dislike of the protagonist. As the story progresses, players form a relationship with the two and reveal their larger role in the story. Like their predecessors, Caroline and Justine follow a striking navy and white design, giving them an ethereal appearance. This Caroline and Justine figure, "Persona 5 Caroline & Justine 1/8 Scale Figure," shows off the twins' design and their off-putting aura.

Persona 5 Caroline & Justine 1/8 Scale Figure

This realistic, scale figure from Aquamarine shows the twin wardens in a menacing stance ready to enforce rehabilitation. Caroline stands on Justine's right, the two forming a near mirror image of each other. Caroline's hair forms two large buns on either side of her head and her eyepatch covers her right eye. She smiles mischievously, her lips parting slightly. Justine wears her hair in a long braid. Her eyepatch covers her left eye.

They wear near-identical outfits consisting of navy blue uniform shirts tucked into stiff black shorts. Their officer inspired hats each display an array of letters: "MRN" on Caroline's and "OYO" on Justine's. The high level of detail shows in a meticulous recreation of realistic fabric, noticeable in the varying creases of their socks. They stand on a base of navy brick: the floor of the Velvet Room.

About Caroline and Justine

Caroline and Justine work with Igor as his assistants in the Velvet Room. Together, they aid the protagonist on his path toward "rehabilitation." Through their confidant link, they provide the player with the means to create more powerful Personas through fusion.

Background

Caroline and Justine are twin sisters that take the appearance of two young girls with platinum blond hair golden eyes. Each wears an eyepatch over one of their eyes. Caroline treats the player with a mean, tsundere attitude. She refuses to refer to the protagonist as "Inmate," using force and kicking them back into their jail cell when leaving the Velvet Room. Justine treats the protagonist as her prisoner, yet with a softer tone than her sister. She still uses condescending language when speaking to the protagonist, but less physical violence than her sister. Justine appears more aware of the inconsistencies of their role and questions their purpose earlier than Caroline does.

Abilities

The twins serve as the Strength Arcana in Persona 5 and increase the power of Fusion Personas if the player fulfills their requests. After maxing out their confidant, the Player can pay for Personas to come out at a higher level than the Personas fused to create them. In both Persona 5 and Persona 5: Royal, the player can battle Caroline and Justine during New Game Plus. The twins use incredibly powerful Personas and follow a set battle phase strategy depending on their HP level. If the player lowers their HP too quickly, they unleash an All-Out Attack that will instantly wipe out the Player's party.

Other Important Persona 5 Characters

Caroline and Justine interact with many characters throughout the series. Here is a brief outline of some important characters.

Igor

Igor is an important figure throughout the Persona franchise as the proprietor of the Velvet Room. Through his role in the Velvet Room, Igor guides the protagonist on their powers and the challenges they will face on their journey. Igor often takes a calm, courteous approach with the protagonist, though morally he occupies a neutral space. In Persona 5, the true Igor does not enter the story until the final arc of the game. He reveals his stance against Yaldabaoth's test of humanity and tasks the Thieves with their final heist: stopping Yaldabaoth.

Lavenza

Lavenza is Igor's true assistant and the combined version of her split halves, Caroline and Justine. Before the events of the game, Yaldabaoth attacks Igor and takes his place. He splits Lavenza into two with each of her halves losing their memory of the event and their true identity. A fragment of Lavenza's consciousness survives as a blue butterfly that guides the character to find the truth. Lavenza displays more maturity and politeness than the twins, though she carries traits of both. She speaks softly and passively like Justine. However, like Caroline, she has a quick temper and violent reactions to frustration.

Morgana

Morgana is a cat-like anthropomorphic creature with a mysterious past. The player first encounters Morgana in Kamoshida's palace. Morgana appears confident and haughty regarding his skills as a thief, but he takes a special interest in the protagonist. He joins the protagonist on his path to rehabilitation with the hope of finding out more about his past. Despite his appearance, Morgana insists he was once human and wishes to return to that state. His continued nightmares about his connection to Mementos culminates with his origin's revelation. The real Igor created Morgana in an effort to stop Yaldabaoth's test of humanity.

Yaldabaoth

Yaldabaoth is the true antagonist in Persona 5 and the catalyzing antagonist in Persona 5: Royal. Yaldabaoth, or the God of Control, manifested from humanity's distorted desires. He came about two years before the opening events of Persona 5. Before the game's events, Yaldabaoth attacked Igor in his desire to test whether or not humanity will fall into ruin. If the protagonist has not maxed the Councillor confidant by November 18th, Yaldabaoth will still serve as the final boss in Royal.
