OtapediaKozuki Oden One Piece - Figures

One Piece is one of the longest-running and best-selling manga series of all time. It is both written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda and has been published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine ever since July 1997. Following the manga’s success, an anime adaptation produced by Toei was first aired on television two years later and continues to air nearly every week over two decades later. As one would expect, a series like One Piece also has an overwhelming amount of merchandise for fans to choose from, with one of the most popular being figures of their favorite characters. One particularly popular character is the legendary Wano samurai, Kozuki Oden. Out of the small handful of figures to choose from, some of the most desirable figures of Oden include the “Ichibansho Figure One Piece Oden Kozuki”, the “Ichibansho Figure One Piece Legends Over Time Oden Kozuki”, and the “DXF One Piece Wano Country -The Grandline Men- Vol. 10: Oden Kozuki”.

This figure shows Oden standing in a battle-ready pose with both of his Meito, Enma, and Ame no Habakiri, drawn and ready to strike at any moment. His knees are also bent low, allowing him to either charge or dodge any potential incoming attacks with ease. Oden also wears his classic attire: an orange kimono that runs down to his knees and is tied with a purple belt, a pair of geta sandals, and a purple and white decorative rope called a nio-dasuki.

About Kozuki Oden

Kozuki Oden was a daimyo from Wano Country that went with Gol D. Roger on his final voyage to the end of the Grand Line. The following is a short overview of his character.

Background

Oden was the son of Kozuki Sukiyaki, the previous Shogun of Wano Country. As such, Oden was set to be the heir of the Shogunate after his father stepped down, but Oden being the rebellious troublemaker he was, set out to see the outside world and one day open Wano Country’s borders. He was first recruited by Whitebeard before joining Roger for his final quest. When Oden finally returned to Wano Country, however, he found that Kurozumi Orochi had taken his place as Shogun. With Orochi’s partner, Kaido, Oden found it impossible to reclaim his place as the ruler of Wano Country. Instead, Orochi forced him to publicly humiliate him in front of his people until his eventual execution five years later.

Special Abilities

Like many other notable characters in the One Piece series, Oden has incomprehensible amounts of strength, durability, and endurance. Even when he was a baby, he is shown to have enough strength to throw the nurse caring for him out of the room. Before becoming an adolescent, he fought an entire group of yazuka members and prevailed. This strength only grew with his age as well. Aside from his incredible physical strength, Oden also has incredible amounts of both Conqueror’s Haki and Armament Haki (which is called Ryuo in Wano Country). Oden also developed his own style of sword fighting that uses his two Meito, Enma and Ame no Habakiri.

Other Important One Piece Characters

Two characters that have a profound effect on Kozuki Oden are Kaido and Gol D. Roger.

Kaido

Kaido is one of the Four Emperors and is the captain of the Beast Pirates. Although Kaido was once an apprentice of the infamous Rocks Pirates, he would go on to form the Beast Pirates and eventually found himself partnering with Kurozumi Orochi. Throughout his life, he was caught by Marines and sentenced to death numerous times, but each attempt was ineffective, causing many to call him the “Strongest Creature”. He also has the powers of a Mythical version of the Fish-Fish Fruit, which allows him to turn into a giant Eastern-style dragon.

Gol D. Roger

Gol D. Roger was the captain of the Roger Pirates, which is currently the only group of pirates to sail through the entire Grand Line. Roger himself was an immensely powerful man, as one would need to be to conquer the Grand Line. He is also known for his fearless nature and compassion for his crew. After his crew had made it to the supposed final island of the Grand Line, Roger understood that their adventure was not over and set out for one final quest to gather the four Road Poneglyphs and reach the true final island of the Grand Line.
