Synopsis

Ronaldo is a renowned vampire hunter famous for his skills and good looks who is tasked with saving a missing child from the clutches of a feared vampire named Dralc who is rumored to be invincible. But when he arrives at Dralc’s castle, he finds that Dralc is actually the weakest vampire in history and keeps dying over every little thing!

Background

The Vampire Dies in No Time began as a gag manga series by Itaru Bonnoki that has been serialized in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion magazine since June 2015. As of April 2021, 17 collected tankobon volumes have been published. A second manga adaptation by Bonnoki titled John the Armadillo from The Vampire Dies in No Time is also being published by Akita Shoten under the Shonen Champion Comics Extra label, and the first tankobon volume was released in April 2019.

A TV anime adaptation was announced in the May 2020 issue of Weekly Shonen Champion. It is being produced by Madhouse and directed by Hiroshi Koujina with Hitomi Yoshida as assistant director. Other staff members include Yukie Sugawara who is writing the scripts, Mayuko Nakano who is designing the characters and is also credited as chief animation director, and Ryo Takahashi who is composing the music. The anime’s opening theme song is "DIES IN NO TIME” by Jun Fukuyama, and the ending theme song is "Strangers" by “technologic vocal unit” which consists of Takayuki Kondo and Daisuke Ono. The anime will premiere in Japan on Oct. 4, 2021 on Tokyo MX, BS11, and other channels.

Characters

Ronaldo (Voiced by: Makoto Furukawa)
A vampire hunter in his early 20s. He is impatient and quick to try and solve problems with violence, but at heart he is a kind young man. Dralc (Voiced by: Jun Fukuyama)
An immortal higher vampire who is 208 years old. Born in Transylvania, Romania, he now lives with his familiar John in his grandfather’s old castle in Saitama Prefecture. He is feared by people as being invincible. But the truth is he is actually the weakest vampire of them all!

John (Voiced by: Mutsumi Tamura)
Dralc’s armadillo familiar. He is loved by everyone for his adorable reactions.

Satetsu (Voiced by: Yoshimasa Hosoya)
A vampire hunter. He is good-natured and sensible, but because of this he has a tendency to get involved in situations.

Shot (Voiced by: Atsushi Tamaru)
A vampire hunter. He has a coolheaded personality and fights by controlling a rope with a claw on the end.

Maria (Voiced by: Yoko Hikasa)
A vampire hunter. She has a spirited personality and a good disposition.

Ta Chan (Voiced by: Kaori Ishihara)
A vampire hunter. She has a poisonous tongue and is good friends with Maria.

Master (Voiced by: Tetsu Inada)
The guildmaster of the Exterminators Guild. He is also the owner of a bar called Shin-Yokohama Highball that he runs on the side.

Medoki (Voiced by: Koudai Sakai)
A vampire hunter. He is good friends with Shoka.

Homerun Batter (Voiced by: Hironori Shiojiri)
A vampire hunter who fights with a ball and a bat.

Shoka (Voiced by: Junji Majima)
A vampire hunter. He is good friends with Medoki.

Senya Siriski (Voiced by: Masaya Onosaka)
A vampire hunter. His hobby is to train vampires to his liking.

Hinaichi (Voiced by: Natsumi Hioka)
A member of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police's Anti-Vampire Division. Though small in stature, she is extremely talented and serves as deputy captain. She is also serious but can be an airhead too.

Tо Handa (Voiced by: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka)
A half-human, half-vampire member of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police's Anti-Vampire Division. For some reason, he sees Ronaldo as a rival.

Hiyoshi (Voiced by: Daisuke Ono)
Captain of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police's Anti-Vampire Division and Hinaichi and To’s boss.

Fukuma (Voiced by: Shunichi Toki)
A young but talented editor at Autumn Bookstore. He is in charge of Ronaldo’s War Chronicle.

Kameya (Voiced by: Takayuki Kondo)
A reporter for the Weekly Vampire Hunter.

Koyuki (Voiced by: Yuki Takada)
Master’s daughter. She works at Shin-Yokohama Highball.
