Synopsis

Catarina Claes is a wealthy heiress who, after getting hit in the head with a rock one day, begins to recall memories of her past life as an otaku and realizes that she is stuck in the world of her favorite otome game, Fortune Lover! Unluckily for her, however, she quickly learns that she has been reincarnated as the game’s villainess who tries to ruin the protagonist’s romances. Even worse, no matter what she does she seems doomed to an unfortunate fate. The best she can hope for is exile, and the worst is death! Can she find a way to change the seemingly inevitable doom that awaits her and create a happy future for herself?

Background

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom is a light novel series written by Satoru Yamaguchi and illustrated by Nami Hidaka that began in July 2014 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shousetsuka ni Naro. Since August 2015, it has been published by Ichijinsha under their Bunko Iris imprint. As of February 2021, 10 volumes have been published. The light novel has been licensed for release in North America by J-Novel Club.

A manga adaptation illustrated by Hidaka has been serialized in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero Sum shojo manga magazine since August 2017 and has been published in six tankobon volumes as of January 2021. A second manga adaptation written by Satoru Yamaguchi and illustrated by Nishi titled My Next Life as a Villainess Side Story: On the Verge of Doom began serialization in November 2019 and has been published in two tankobon volumes as of January 2021. Both manga are licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom...X is the second season of the anime adaptation. It is once again being animated by SILVER LINK and features Keisuke Inoue as director with Megumi Shimizu handling series composition and Miwa Oshima handling character designs. The music composers from the first season are joined by Junko Nakajima, Sayaka Aoki, and Kanade Sakuma. The anime’s opening theme song is "Andante ni Koi o Shite!" by angela, and the ending theme song is "give me ♡ me." by Shouta Aoi. The anime will premiere in Japan on July 2, 2021 as part of the Super Animeism block on MBS and TBS.

Characters

Catarina Claes (Voiced by: Maaya Uchida)
The only daughter of the Duke of Claes. She has a refined appearance. She was reincarnated from a previous life and is now the villainess of a game world. She struggles to avoid getting a bad end at all costs. She is a natural people-pleaser and knows Earth magic.

Geordo Stuart (Voiced by: Shouta Aoi)
The third prince of the kingdom and Catarina’s fiancé. He is a run-of-the-mill prince with blonde hair and blue eyes, but he is actually a black-hearted sadist. He becomes interested in Catarina after her change in personality and frequently visits her home. He knows fire magic.

Keith Claes (Voiced by: Tetsuya Kakihara)
Catarina’s brother-in-law. He was taken in by the Claes family due to his high magical abilities. He has attractive looks and exudes sex appeal. His life is turned around after meeting Catarina and he is growing into being a good man due to the love of the Claes family. He knows Earth magic.

Alan Stuart (Voiced by: Tatsuhisa Suzuki)
Geordo’s twin brother and the fourth prince, Alan has unpolished good looks and is self-serving. He has exceptional musical talent and is said to be a prodigy. He has a complex about his twin brother but begins to overcome it through interacting with Catarina. He knows water magic.

Nicol Ascart (Voiced by: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka)
The son of Count Ascart, the country’s prime minister. He has doll-like good looks. He dotes on his younger sister, Sophia. He has a magical charm that attracts people of all ages and has a club that loves him. He is emotionless except for around his family, but he begins to open up his heart to Catarina after becoming attracted to her. He knows wind magic.

Mary Hunt (Voiced by: Miho Okasaki)
The fourth daughter of the marquis and Alan’s fiancée. She has beautiful looks. She used to be timid, but since meeting Catarina she has grown to become more social and is now known as the “daughter of daughters.” She has a natural green thumb and helps Catarina to revive her farm. She is very fond of Catarina and plans to run off with her to a distant land (apparently). She knows water magic.

Sophia Ascart (Voiced by: Inori Minase)
Nicol’s younger sister and the daughter of a countess. She is treated harshly by others due to her white hair and red eyes. She has a quiet and gentle demeanor. She loves to read, and she becomes friends with Catarina after they read the same romance novel. She knows wind magic.

Maria Campbell (Voiced by: Saori Hayami)
A special girl who is a commoner but possesses the magical power of light. She is the main character of the otome game Fortune Lover. She is kind, humble, and hardworking, and she always tries her best. She comes to adore Catarina after she saves her from being bullied because of her status. She is good at making sweets.

Raphael Wolt (Voiced by: Toshiki Masuda)
The son of the Marquis of Deek, he is a distant relative of Nicol and his family. He is good at making tea. He is one year older than Catarina, and was appointed as the student council president at the Academy of Magic due to being the top student in both academics and magic. He is currently working for the Ministry of Magic.

Anne Shelley (Voiced by: Azumi Waki)
Catarina’s maid. She has been working for Catarina since Catarina was 8 years old. On the surface, she's a bit salty towards Catalina, but she cares for her more than anyone else and is willing to follow and serve her no matter what.

Jeffrey Stuart (Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu)
The first prince of the kingdom. He has silver hair and blue eyes, and is similar in appearance to Alan. He is a strong candidate to be the next king. He always has a smile on his face and has a soft demeanor. He has a unique air about him that is somewhat loose.

Susanna Randall (Voiced by: Sumire Uesaka)
The second daughter of the Marquis of Randall and Jeffrey’s fiancée. She is glamorously beautiful and is regarded as the most talented woman in the country.

Ian Stuart (Voiced by: Yusuke Shirai)
The second prince of the kingdom. He has blonde hair and blue eyes, and is similar in appearance to Geordo. Along with Jeffrey, he is a strong candidate to be the next king. His calm and collected manner can come off as a bit cold to those around him.

Selena Berg (Voiced by: Yui Ogura)
The eldest daughter of the Duke of Berg and Ian’s fiancée. She has an innocent aura and gives the impression of a small animal due to being timid and unsure of herself.

Rufus Brode (Voiced by: Kousuke Toriumi)
A servant of the Berg family who watches over Selena. He is soft-spoken, knowledgeable, and capable. He wears glasses and a butler’s uniform.
