Synopsis

“I am Tsushima.”
One day, a cat-loving older woman known as Ojii-chan comes across a stray cat in the neighborhood named Tsushima. And there’s something special about Tsushima - he can talk! Now, he spends his days relaxing at Ojii-chan’s house along with resident cat Miss Zun, a pampered scaredy cat named Cha, and a lone wolf stray named Osamu!

Background

Ore, Tsushima is a manga series written by Opunokyodai that has been serialized online via Twitter since July 2017. As of October 2020, three tankobon volumes have been published by Shogakukan.

An anime adaptation was announced by Shogakukan in February 2021. It is being co-animated by Fanworks and Space Neko Company and features Jun Aoki as director and scriptwriter. The anime will premiere in Japan on July 2 as part of the Super Animeism block on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS.

Characters

Tsushima (Voiced by: Akio Ohtsuka)
A former stray brown tabby. After a long period of wandering, he is now living comfortably at Ojii-chan’s house. His name comes from his resemblance to the “Tsushima cat” even though he doesn’t look much like it. He knows a lot about insects.

Ojii-chan (Voiced by: Mayumi Tanaka)
Tsushima’s roommate who loves cats more than anything else. Though named Ojii-chan, she is actually a woman. She gets all kinds of cats at her house due to letting them come and go as they please. She’s not a big fan of insects.

Miss Zun (Voiced by: Mami Koyama)
She is the eldest and most powerful among the cats and has been living at Ojii-chan’s house for a long time. She is good at breaking up fights and loves to be in between Ojii-chan’s legs and the kotatsu.

Cha (Voiced by: Nobuhiko Okamoto)
She is the youngest of all the cats and is the most spoiled. She is such a scaredy cat that she surprises those around her. She is always charming, whether staying at Ojii-chan’s house or someone else’s.

Osamu (Voiced by: Takashi Matsuyama)
A stray cat in the neighborhood who sometimes stays at Ojii-chan’s house. Though he has known her for quite awhile, he still hasn’t gotten used to Ojii-chan.
