Synopsis

The Shijo Minami Junior High soft tennis club is on the verge of shutting down, until the captain of the team, Toma, asks the new transfer student, Maki, to join. Stars Align is the coming-of-age story of Maki and his teammates as they learn life lessons through soft tennis and get it their all to succeed.

Background

Stars Align is an original TV anime being directed by Kazuki Akane at 8-Bit and written by Kazuki Akane, with Yuichi Takahashi adapting Itsuka’s original character designs for animation, and music by jizue. Megumi Nakajima will perform the opening theme song "Suiso," and Bless4 will perform the ending theme song "Kago no Naka no Bokura wa." The anime will premiere in Japan in October.

Characters

Maki Katsuragi (Voiced by: Natsuki Hanae)

Maki has just transferred to Shijo Minami Junior High. He lives with his mom who is a busy single parent and helps by doing the housework. His parents are divorced . At first he has no interest in joining any clubs, and he likes to keep a bit of distance between himself and others.

Toma Shinjo (Voiced by: Tasuku Hatanaka)

Toma is Maki’s classmate who lives in the same neighborhood. He is the captain of his school’s soft tennis club. He has an older brother in college who is a superb soft tennis player.

Rintaro Futsu (Voiced by: Gen Sato)

Rintaro is the vice captain of the soft tennis club. He has a gentle and kind personality. He is able to handle anything effortlessly but he often holds back.

Shingo Takenouchi (Voiced by: Keisuke Sato)

Shingo is the moodmaker of the soft tennis club. He cares for his friends and has a cheerful personality. He is highly competitive and often gets emotional.

Taiyo Ishigami (Voiced by: Kohei Amasaki)

Taiyo is a member of the soft tennis club and has a gentle personality. He is bad at making decisions and proposing his ideas. He also has stage fright and gets nervous before every match. Though raised in Tokyo he talks with a Kansai dialect due to both his parents being from the Kansai region.

Tsubasa Soga (Voiced by: Toshiyuki Toyonaga)

Tsubasa has great reflexes and is good at all sports. He is a bit moody and tells it like it is.

Itsuki Ameno (Voiced by: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka)

Itsuki is a member of the soft tennis club and is the shortest member of the team.
Tendency to keep his true feelings and emotions hidden。He often talks with a sharp tongue, which his teammates chastise him for.

Nao Tsukinose (Voiced by: Yusuke Kobayashi)

Nao has a laid-back personality and moves at his own pace. He is gentle and kind but naive, not being able to tell truth from lies.
