Synopsis
Twelve-year-old Yuga Mikado is known as the “Ace of Games” and has a PalTube channel with his friend Ranma in which they live stream themselves having fun. When Yuga starts playing Buddyfight the first card that appears is Garguntua Dragon. Together with his new Buddy, Garga Yuga challenges “Ace of Studies” Subaru Hoshiyomi and “Ace of Sports” Masato Rikuo in the Shin Buddy Fighter Championships.
Anime Adaptation
Inspired by Bushiroad’s collectible Future Card Buddyfight card game, Future Card Buddyfight Ace, is the second series and sixth anime season in the franchise and is a new spin-off to the original storyline. The anime was announced via Bushiroad’s Twitter on April 13, 2018 and premiered on June 2, 2018. The series’ opening theme is "Saa Iko!” by Poppin’ Party, while the series’ ending, "Buddy☆Funny Days," is performed by Takumi Mano, Daiki Kobayashi and Shuuta Morishima.

Twelve-year-old Yuga Mikado is known as the “Ace of Games” thanks to his genius ability to find super entertaining games. Along with his friend Ranma he runs the RanGa PalTube Channel on which the boys live stream themselves playing their new games. Buddyfight is his first card game but Yuga shows potential. He is also the son of legendary Buddy Fighter, Gao Mikado.
Subaru Hoshiyomi (Voiced by: Daiki Kobayashi (Japanese), Oscar Derkx (English))

Subaru Hoshiyomi is a school friend of Yuga’s and is known as the “Ace of Studies.” Top in all his classes, Subaru has also placed first in nationwide tests. Somewhat aloof, Subaru is usually to be found in the library and is later recognized as Yuga’s rival when he takes up Buddyfight.
Masato Rikuo (Voiced by: Shuta Morishima (Japanese), Sam Duke (English))

Known as the “Ace of Sports,” Masato Rikuo is talented at all kinds of physical games. He is warm and generous of spirit with a strong sense of justice, unwilling to look the other way when people need help. As a Buddyfighter veteran, he can’t resist the opportunity to hone his skills.
Ranma Kakogawa (Voiced by: Kei Shindo (Japanese), Conner Christmas (English))
Deck: Crimson Explosion
Ranma Kakogawa is Yuga’s best friend and helps him run the RanGa PalTube Channel in which they live stream lots of interesting games. Skilled with technology and editing videos, Ranma is also a strong Buddyfight player. As his parents are often out, Ranma is a frequent guest at Yuga’s at dinnertime.
Miko Mikono (Voiced by: Ayasa Ito)
Buddy: Electrodeity of Light, Amaterasu
Deck: Blessed Heavenly Light
Miko Mikono is a childhood friend of Yuga’s. Her favorite food is pizza, and she also loves cats as well as is a big fan of the RanGa PalTube Channel.
Haru Mikado (Voiced by: Rimi Nishimoto (Japanese), Calen Belden (English))
Haru Mikado is Yuga’s younger brother. He’s a big fan of the RanGa PalTube Channel and is an honest person with a habit of stating things plainly. He is able to talk quite confidently even with older people.
Paruko Nanana (Voiced by: Sora Tokui (Japanese), Laura Rushfeldt (English))
Paruko Nanana is the wife of Gao Mikado as well as the mother of Yuga and Haru. She is trying to support the family cheerfully while Gao is away. A warm and generous person, she also makes space at her table for Yuga’s friend Ranma whose parents are often absent as well as Garga who arrived from Dragon World.
Dan Yamada / Da★Dan (Voiced by: Miura Hiroaki (Japanese), Dan Shave (English))
Dan Yamada is an evil PalTuber who impersonates other streamers, gets in the way of broadcasts, and generally breaks all the netiquette rules spreading negativity wherever he goes.
Ion Nanana (Voiced by: Yuka Ozaki (Japanese), Caitlynne Medrek (English))
Buddy: Martian UFO, Takokichi
Ion Nanana is Yuga’s cousin who pops up with her UFO to cover Buddyfight games wherever they take place.
Tasuku Ryuenji (Voiced by: Souma Saito (Japanese), Cole Hanson (English))
Buddy: Jackknife Dragon

Tasaku Ryuenji is head of the Buddy Police and a keen Buddyfighter since childhood. While he is the chief, he is well liked throughout the organization for his kindness. He and his Buddy Jack think of each other as family and often act together.
Light Kurouzu (Voiced by: Shouta Aoi)
Buddy: Black Dragon Knight, Gale
As his name suggests, Light Kurouzu is a bright and cheerful Buddyfighter. He uses Darkness Dragon World and was defeated in the first round of the ABC Cup.
Banjoe Onizuka (Voiced by: Tone Kentarou)
Buddy: Topfist Vainglory, Brawlzeus
Deck: Legend of Strongest Topfist
Bonjoe Onizuka likes to think of himself as the toughest kid at school and has a rough, violent temperament. Unexpectedly he finds himself becoming passionate about Buddyfight and becomes less unruly as a result.
Mel Yumegatari (Voiced by: Saori Hayami)
Buddy: Red Riding Hood, Ema
Deck: Eins von Melhen
Mel Yumegatari has her head in the clouds almost as if she lives in a fairy tale. She has cotton candy for hair and is nursing a longtime crush on Subaru whom she thinks of as a Prince Charming. She also has a habit of swooning when hearing shocking news whether good or bad.
Mamoru Sekai (Voiced by: Natsuki Hanae)
Buddy: Galaxy Exalt, Cosmoman
Deck: Cosmo Justice
Mamoru Sekai is a peace-loving young man who stands up to evil. However, he has a bad habit of giving out his self-made Cosmoman merchandise as a token of his appreciation.
Gargantua Dragon (Voiced by: Tetsu Inada)

Garga is a dragon recognized as the “Ace of Games” since ancient times. His special movie is Gargantua Punisher, and he has a military bearing and character. Garga hates weakness and trains hard every day but often loses control of himself where sweets are concerned.

Skyseer Dragon, Cross Astrologia is a dragon interested in the science of astrology who can predict the future. Along with coolheadedness, Cross Astrologia also has a caring side and can figure out what Subaru is feeling without him noticing.

Thunderaxe, Agito is head of the Linkdragon Order along with Masato Rikuo. He is always fiercely supportive of Masato.

World: Hero World
Martian UFO, Takokichi is a monster who came from Hero World because he likes being in the center of the action. He appears with Ion riding on top of him whenever a Buddyfight tournament takes place. He is also very excitable when he talks.

Jackknife has been with Tasuku Ryuenji since he was young, and the pair think of each other as family.

Amaterasu is like a sister to Miko and often helps out at the cafe. If she gets hurt or makes a mistake she becomes withdrawn and retreats into her cage.

World: Danger World
Brawlzeus is a yankee monster who calls Banjoe bro. He is always very enthusiastic and wants to be the very best Buddyfighter.

World: Dungeon World
Red Riding Hood, Ema came from Dungeon World dressed just like Red Riding Hood. She enjoys living in dreamy Mel’s fairy tale world, and the pair are really good friends.

Ema transformed into a giant red dragon! She may still have Ema’s voice, but she’s also a super strong monster!

Cosmoman is a hero who stands for justice and protects peace. He lost all his energy when he came down to Earth so Cosmoman has to make sure he finishes all his business before the Cosmo Timer runs out.

Garcat is a cat-shaped dragon. He is overflowing with energy but sometimes causes problems for others.
Gardog (Voiced by: Yu Okano)
World: Dragon World
Gardog is a dog-shaped dragon who is handsome and chilled out. Rather than desert his two buddies, he tries to keep them on the straight and narrow.
Garbird (Voiced by: Shintarou Oohata)
World: Dragon World
Garbid is a scatterbrained bird-shaped dragon. As soon as he stops paying attention, he falls asleep.
