Characters

Aoi Mashiro (Voiced by: Miyu Tomita)

A second-year transfer student from Omiya, Saitama, high school girl Aoi Mashiro begins working at the Kura antiques store in Kyoto’s Teramachi district after taking some of her grandfather’s belongings in to sell. She is considered to have a good eye for antiques and can tell quickly whether or not an item is genuine or has real value. Aoi is also valued for her honest and straightforward character.

Kiyotaka Yagashira (Voiced by: Kaito Ishikawa)

Nicknamed the “Holmes of Teramachi,” Kiyotaka Yagashira is a 22-year-old student at Kyoto University. He is also an apprentice at Kura where he carries out appraisals on antiques. Gentle and handsome, Kiyotaka’s character is beyond reproach but he also has a bad-tempered, malicious streak. He also loves going to cafes and is good at brewing coffee.

Akihito Kajiwara (Voiced by: Ryohei Kimura)

Akihito Kajiwara is just starting out as an actor and has unusually light colored hair that lends some to assume he is half-Japanese. His father is a famous novelist, and despite growing up in Kyoto, Akihito speaks with a standard Tokyo accent thanks to the influence of his parents. Fairly meek in character, Akihito sometimes sees Kiyotaka as a rival.

Ensho (Voiced by: Koji Yusa)

Genius conman Ensho once left home to become a monk but went back to his criminal ways after meeting Kiyotaka. He still shaves his hair like a monk and dresses in traditional Japanese clothes. A talented sportsman, Ensho is also nimble fingered and perceptive.

Rikyu Takiyama (Voiced by: Sanae Kobayashi)

Cheeky young boy Rikyu Takiyama has been mistaken for a girl since childhood and has taken to learning martial arts to improve his physique, even going abroad to study judo in France! Rikyu has great respect for Kiyotaka but is often stern with Aoi.

Seiji Yagashira (Voiced by: Rikiya Koyama)

Seiji Yagashira is Kiyotaka’s grandfather and the owner of Kura. He is a state-approved antiques appraiser and Kiyotaka’s mentor. He is entirely self-centred but does have an unexpectedly considerate side.

Takeshi Yagashira (Voiced by: Yoji Ueda)

Takeshi Yagashira is Kiyotaka’s father and the manager of Kura as well as a successful novelist. Always extremely polite, Takeshi was raised in Tokyo and speaks standard Japanese rather than the Kyoto dialect.

Saori Miyashita (Voiced by: Yui Horie)

Older sister of Kaori Miyashita, Saori is a university student who excels at her studies as well as the traditional hobby of flower arranging. She is often left out of social events by others who are jealous of all her accomplishments.

Kaori Miyashita (Voiced by: Suzuna Kinoshita)

Kaori Miyashita is a classmate of Aoi’s. She is also the daughter of a well-established dry goods store and is something of a scenester.
