Synopsis

Despite having lost his memories, high schooler Soya Kuroi lives a peaceful life until one day, the world is attacked by a massive weapon called the Nebula Weapon. Soya is then dragged into battle along with the cat-like Sensei and a girl named Ginko who dresses as a gothic lolita. Somehow, though, their enemies end up being 7 people the whole world loves as heroes…! What is the reason for this battle that has been lost with Soya’s memories…?

Anime Adaptation

Planet With was first released as a manga by Satoshi Mizukami in Shonen Gahosha’s magazine Young King OURs on April 28, 2018.

The anime adaptation by J.C.Staff began airing on July 8, 2018 on Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS11, and is directed by Youhei Suzuki with writing by Satoshi Mizukami and music by Kohei Tanaka. The opening theme is “One Unit” by Minami and Mai Fuchigami (Harumi) performed the ending theme “Rainbow Planet.”

Characters

Soya Kuroi (Voiced by: Atsushi Abe)

Soya is a high school student who has lost his memories and is living with Sensei and Ginko. He gets wrapped up in the battle when the Nebula Weapon attacks the town. As a new student he doesn’t have many friends, but he does get along with Nozomi.

Nozomi Takamagahara (Voiced by: Sayaka Harada)

The committee chairman of Soya’s class. She’s kind and worries about him and he calls her “Nozo-san.” She loves things like ghost stories and the occult.

Ginko Kuroi (Voiced by: Shiori Izawa)

A young girl who dresses in gothic lolita clothes and lives with Soya. She’s in charge of cooking for the Kuroi household, but she never uses meat for some reason. She comes across as naive, but alongside Sensei, she gets Soya wrapped up in the battle.

Sensei (Voiced by: Rikiya Koyama)

Some kind of mysterious living creature that looks like a cat who lives with Soya and Ginko. Sensei loves 2D girls and cabbage and generally just wants a normal life, whatever that means.

Takashi Ryuzouji (Voiced by: Kenji Nomura)

The intimidating leader of Grand Paladin, the National Security Administration Bureau Special Defense Division. He calls Soya and the others “Nebula Soldiers” and he’s trying to clean them up.

Kogane Shiraishi (Voiced by: Saori Goto)

Something of a secretary for Takashi. She manages Grand Paladin abilities and also comes up with strategies during battles.

Hideo Torai (Voiced by: Yuichiro Umehara)

An extremely gifted fighter within Grand Paladin. He usually comes across as a dedicated and nice guy. He used to work as firefighter.

Miu Inaba (Voiced by: Hitomi Owada)

A member of Grand Paladin. She’s gung-ho and determined but has a complex about how she used to be. She’s been a close friend of Harumi’s since they were young.

Harumi Kumashiro (Voiced by: Mai Fuchigami)

A member of Grand Paladin. She’s close with Miu and often worries about Miu’s rash nature. She’s extremely skilled in judo.

Judgement Nezuya (Voiced by: Shinsuke Sugawara)

A member of Grand Paladin. His name is written as “Seigi,” meaning “justice,” and it is read as “Judgement.” He has a bit of “chunibyo.”

Benika Takatori (Voiced by: Shizuka Ishigami)

A member of Grand Paladin. She’s proficient in reading battles, and she’s always cool and collected. She has a great deal of faith in herself and is very strong-willed.

Yosuke Hitsujitani (Voiced by: Kazuyuki Okitsu)

A young man who is affiliated with Grand Paladin. He isn’t very good at fighting indoors. He frequently works with Benika whom he has been friends with for a long time.

Takezo Ryuzouji (Voiced by: Motomu Kiyokawa)

The oldest member of Grand Paladin. Despite his age he is quite energetic, and he can also eat a lot! He fights as a member of Grand Paladin under his son Takashi.

His Excellency (Voiced by: Norio Wakamoto)

A living creature with the appearance of a dog who fights against Sensei… but what does he really look like, and what does he want…?
