Synopsis
18-year-old Baileu Ton has come to London to study abroad after graduating high school. However, she quickly finds herself drawn to a secret nighttime bar, “Cafe Forbidden,” which has a particular set of clientele. Among the staff are vampire Vlad, werewolf Luke, Jiang Shi Tauryu, and ghost Wayne. None of them are really human. The truth is they are all members of a secret organisation. Anime Adaptation
Phantom in the Twilight is a Japanese/Chinese collaboration produced by Happy Elements. The anime adaptation was announced on Mar. 25 with the first episode airing on July 9 on Tokyo MX and BS Fuji. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series outside of Japan.
The series opening theme is "Flowery song" by Jiro Wang with May’n performing the ending theme “HOME”.

Baileu Ton (Voiced by: Kana Hanazawa)
Baileu Ton is a nice girl but raised in a strict home she feels trapped in her hometown and after graduation decides to escape by going to London to study abroad. She always wears a ring that belonged to her much loved great-grandmother whom the rest of the family regard as a burden. Baileu’s grandmother was also a legendary Taoist priest - a talent which Baileu seems to have inherited.
Vlad Garfunkel (Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai)
A powerful vampire once known for terrorising London, Vlad Garfunkel has grown prideful through living so long and is somewhat lazy. From his words and actions he might seem cold, but Vlad also has a romantic side and often thinks of a girl he loved once long ago in the first century. He is also the tea specialist at Cafe Forbidden and a leader to the junior members of staff.
Luke Bowen (Voiced by: Nobuhiko Okamoto)
Luke Bowen is bright and cheerful but harbours a dark secret. He is friendly and compassionate but things often go wrong for him when he acts purely on emotions. Luke is the head chef and mood maker of Cafe Forbidden. He is particularly skilled at Italian cooking and loves adding pepper to his dishes. Predictably, he often fights with garlic-phobic Vlad.
Tauryu (Voiced by: Tomokazu Sugita)
“Hopping vampire” Jiang Shi Tauryu was created for warfare but later cast off by the army he escaped China for London. He is quiet and serious but can sometimes be spontaneous. Tauryu is also extremely loyal. If his leader is in danger, he will willingly tear up anything in his way to help without considering his own safety. Tauryu is the front of house cashier at Cafe Forbidden.
Wayne King (Voiced by: Daiki Yamashita)
Wayne King arrived at Cafe Forbidden after being found in the street having lost his memories. He realised he must be a ghost owing to having no real physical form. He is most likely the youngest employee of Cafe Forbidden and has a curious, lively personality, taking great pleasure in novelty. Because of his ability to possess various things like computers and smartphones, Wayne has also become extremely knowledgeable about IT and is in charge of intelligence gathering at Cafe Forbidden.
Chris (Voiced by: Yuki Ono)
Chris was raised in the same town as Luke which was later destroyed by someone he believed to be a friend. Ever since then he’s held a grudge against Luke and is determined to wipe out all the monsters who destroyed his village.
Mu Shinyao (Voiced by: Manaka Iwami)
Mu Shinyao is Baileu Ton’s best friend. Curious and free, Shinyao is determined to protect her friend who often turns to her for advice.
Haysin (Voiced by: Junichi Suwabe)
Haysin wants to use Baileu Ton to make give himself eternal youth. Although he belongs to the “Midnight Sun” organisation who want to wipe out the Amblers he is treated as an outsider. Like Rijian he is a Taoist and the biological creator of Jiang Shi Tauryu.
Van Helsing (Voiced by: Rikiya Koyama)
Van Helsing is a Vampire Hunter who lives for justice.
Backup (Voiced by: Kousuke Toriumi)
Backup is an engineer with a sweet tooth and extreme insomnia.
Sha Rijan (Voiced by: Yui Horie)
Sha Rijian is Baileu Ton’s Taoist great grandma. An Ambler hunter of unprecedented ability, she is well known within the Ambler community and originally founded Cafe Forbidden 100 years ago.
George L. Gregory (Voiced by: Kenji Nomura)
George L. Gregory is a police detective assigned to the Ambler department, investigating and dealing with supernatural incidents so the regular citizens never know of their existence.
