Synopsis
In the Imperial Capital of 1830, a mysterious group of people carrying cases for musical instruments get off the train at Tokyo Station. Their cases do not, however, contain musical instruments for these are the Jaegers - vampire hunters, one of whom happens to a be vengeful werewolf named Yuliy whose hometown was wiped out by undead bloodsuckers. Yuliy and the Jaegers have come to Tokyo in search of The Arc of Sirius, but what they find is something quite different…
Anime Adaptation
Tenrou: Sirius the Jaeger is an original anime project created by P.A.Works. The anime was announced via an official website set up by P.A.Works launched on March 22, 2018, and premiered on July 12 on AT-X, Tokyo MX, BS11, and Tulip TV.
Kishida Kyoudan & the Akeboshi Rockets perform the series’ opening theme song, “Sirius,” while the ending theme is Sajou’s “Hoshie.”
Characters
Yuliy (Voiced by: Yuuto Uemura)
A 17-year-old half-werewolf, Yuliy harbors a longstanding grudge against vampires, who were responsible for the destruction of his home village, becoming a Jaeger in order to hunt them down. Used to being alone, Yuliy has an unapproachable air but also has a softer side. He carries a three-section staff and uses a fighting style uniquely adapted to his shapeshifting weapon.
Willard (Voiced by: Kenyu Horiuchi)
Former archaeologist Willard is 41 and goes by the nickname “Professor.” In addition to being a Jaeger and Yuliy’s team leader, Willard also has a part-time job as an advisor at V Shipping’s historic preservation department.
Dorothea (Voiced by: Nanako Mori)
Willard’s right-hand woman, Dorothea is 27 years old and a member of the Jaeger. Beautiful and charming, she can keep her cool in any situation and is particularly skilled in the use of firearms, adapting the gunpowder she uses to match each and every job.
Philip (Voiced by: Yusuke Kobayashi)
At only 14, British-born Philip is the youngest on Willard’s Jaeger team but his skills are unrivalled. Unlike most Jaegers, Philip does actually carry a violin in his violin case and likes to play it every now and then.
Fallon (Voiced by: Shunsuke Takeuchi)
A 26-year-old Irish-American and a member of the Jaeger, Fallon is tough physically and mentally. He looks out for Yuliy like a big brother but is chattier than ideal for his profession. Fallon specializes in close combat but is also adept at setting traps for vampires.
Mikhail (Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai)
Mikhail is Yuliy’s older brother who lived peacefully with him and their mother until the vampires arrived looking for the Arc of Sirius. Having managed to escape the burning village with Yuliy, he was then seriously injured and presumed dead. Mikhail is a skilled two-sword fencer but also capable of chasing his prey with guns.
Yevgraf (Voiced by: Kenjiro Tsuda)
Yegraf is the youthful prince of the vampire Royals. To prevent his clan dying out he is currently leading a war on humanity. Yevgraf is also on a quest to find the Arc of Sirius for mysterious reasons…
Kershner (Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu)
Yevgraf’s second-in-command, Kershner is a vampire sought by Willard and V Shipping for quite some time. He is also the president of Alma Trading Company.
Agatha (Voiced by: Sayaka Ohara)
Beautiful Royals vampire Agatha is 140 years old but looks pretty good for her age thanks to drinking the blood of young men! Agatha arrived in Japan via Shanghai and is sophisticated and elegant in public but often rude when showing her true self. She tears humans apart with her own claws that she grows during combat.
Klarwein (Voiced by: Nobuo Tobita)
Klarwein is a mad scientist who has teamed up with the vampires to make his mad scientist dreams come true.
Hideomi Iba (Voiced by: Junji Majima)
A 29-year-old secret agent attached to the Military Affairs Bureau’s Kudan Satellite Office. Called back from the Harbin Military Secret Service in order to investigate the strange rumors, his current focus is V-Shipping and Alma Trading. He also poses as a journalist for Monthly Real Crime Magazine under the name Tada.
Ryoko Naoe (Voiced by: Rie Takahashi)
Ryoko Naoe is the only daughter of the family hosting Willard’s Jaeger team in Japan. She practices kendo constantly and is also a keen reader. Ryoko is fascinated by all of the Jaegers but particularly with Yuliy.
Akimoto (Voiced by: Hinata Tadokoro)
Akimoto is a bar owner and agent of V Shipping.
