Synopsis

The Kisaragi Secret Society is a large company known to everyone around the world which calls itself an evil organization and is involved in a variety of crimes. The company is poised to defeat the heroes and finally conquer the world. However, once they do they will no longer need a large number of fighters. In order to solve this problem, the executives at Kisaragi set their sights on a new place to invade - space! A skilled fighter from Kisaragi named Combat Agent 6 and a beautiful android girl named Alice are dispatched to a planet with an environment similar to Earth on a reconnaissance mission, but they soon discover that it’s a fantasy world and that the locals are being invaded by a Demon Lord’s army!

Background

Combatants Will Be Dispatched! began as a light novel series, written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kakao Lanthanum that has been published by Kadokawa Shoten under their Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint since November 2017. Five volumes have been published as of September 2020. There is also a manga adaptation illustrated by Masaaki Kiasa that has been serialized in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Alive magazine since March 2018 and has been released in five collected tankobon volumes as of September 2020. Both the light novel and manga have been licensed for English release in North America by Yen Press.

An anime adaptation was announced in March 2020 during a Kadokawa livestream event. It is being produced by J.C. Staff and directed by Hiroaki Akagi (Girl Gaku Hijiri Girls Square Gakuin, Mashiro no Oto, Teasing Master Takagi-san) with Yukie Sugawara (Hina Logic - from Luck & Logic, Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Overlord) handling series composition, Sota Suwa (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, Gatchaman Crowds, Love Live! Sunshine!!) handling character designs, and Masato Koda (Arpeggio of Blue Steel - Ars Nova, Domestic Girlfriend, KonoSuba: God’s blessing on this wonderful world!!) composing the music. The anime’s opening theme song is "No.6" by Miku Ito, and the ending theme song is "Home Sweet Home" by Miyu Tomita, Sayaka Kikuchi, Natsumi Murakami, and Minami Takahashi. The anime will premiere in Japan on April 4, 2021 on AT-X, Tokyo MX, and other channels, and has been picked up by Funimation for streaming in North America.

Characters

Combat Agent 6 (Voiced by: Yusuke Shirai)
The oldest member of the Kisaragi Secret Society. He has a long history with the executives and is trusted by them. He is also a highly skilled fighter, but he isn’t very smart, and his personality and behavior are garbage. He is still a low-ranking member because he is only capable of petty crime.

Alice Kisaragi (Voiced by: Miyu Tomita)
A beautiful bishoujo-type android made by Kisaragi. Though she looks like a cute girl, she has a high level of intellect and a self-destruct function in her body, and she cuts down both friends and foes alike with her merciless tongue. On the other hand, her physical abilities and combat skills are faithful to her appearance and are on par with a normal girl. She hats magic, the occult, and other unscientific things.

Snow (Voiced by: Sayaka Kikuchi)
Captain of the Kingdom of Grace’s Imperial Guard. She is a beautiful knight with excellent sword skills but her greed makes her unpopular with others. When it comes to money and success, she spares no effort. Her hobby is collecting swords, and she has taken out a loan to purchase several magic swords.

Rose (Voiced by: Natsumi Murakami)
An artificial chimera built for combat. She is an honest and cheerful girl who loves to eat. She has the ability to take in the characteristics of whatever she eats, and she eats demons in order to become stronger. She is following the will of her “grandfather” who created her. She often says and does awkward things.

Grimm (Voiced by: Minami Takahashi)
The Archbishop who serves the evil god Zenaris, who controls immortality and misfortune. She is feared by those around her due to her special ability of controlling curses and being able to revive people no matter how many times they die. She is troubled by her inability to find a boyfriend and whenever she sees a happy couple she immediately puts a curse on them.
