Synopsis

Ordinary high school girl Chio Miyamo enjoys walking to school every day. Far from boring, Chio’s regular commute takes her on a series of surreal adventures as she encounters various bizarre obstacles all while simply attempting to get from A (her house) to B (her school).

Anime Adaptation

Chio’s School Road is adapted from the manga written and illustrated by Tadataka Kawasaki which has been running in Monthly Comic Flapper since 2014. Originally slated for April 2018, the 12-episode season was delayed until the summer season, premiering on July 6, 2018.

The series’ opening and ending themes are performed by the show’s cast members with the opening "Danger in my Tsuugakuro” sung by Naomi Ozora, Chiaki Omigawa, and Kaede Hondo, and the ending "Nana Iroad” by Naomi Ozora and Chiaki Omigawa.

Characters

Chio Miyamo (Voiced by: Naomi Ozora)

Chio Miyamo is a first-year high school student who travels to school on foot and has lots of crazy adventures along the way. She is an avid gamer and particularly like western games.

Manana Nonomura (Voiced by: Chiaki Omigawa)

Manana Nonomura has been Chio’s best friend since elementary school but sometimes plots against her despite their close relationship.

Yuki Hosokawa (Voiced by: Kaede Hondo)

A classmate of Chio’s, Yuki Hosokawa is cheerful and popular with plenty of friends.She is also the star of the school’s track team.

Madoka Kushitori (Voiced by: Yo Taichi)

Third-year student Madoka Kushitori is the president of the Kabaddi Club.

Mayuta Ando (Voiced by: Rikiya Koyama)

Formerly the delinquent leader of a motorcycle gang, Mayuta Ando is convinced to turn his life around thanks to an encounter with Chio and becomes a convenience store clerk. Nursing a mild crush, he is often keen to impress her.

Goto (Voiced by: Hiroki Takahashi)

Mr. Goto is a stern teacher at Chio’s school who waits by the gates every day to greet his pupils. He may be strict but it’s only because he cares!

Momo Shinozuka (Voiced by: Minori Suzuki)

Momo Shinozuka is a second-year student and member of the Public Morals Committee. She has an unrequited crush on Mr. Goto and is captivated by his daily guidance sessions.
