Synopsis

Drink, drink, eat, drink, sleep! Atasha Kawashiri Kodama Da Yo follows the lazy daily life of Kodama Kawashiri, a messy, rough-around-the-edges girl whose biggest loves in life are greasy, salty food, sweets, and alcohol.

Background

Atasha Kawashiri Kodama Da Yo is an essay manga by Kodama Kawashiri that has been published on Twitter since 2020. Since the series’ debut, Kodama Kawashiri’s Twitter page has amassed over 330,000 followers and 10 million likes. The first collected tankobon volume was published by Kadokawa in November 2021.

An anime adaptation is in the works and is being animated by Lapin Track (Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, Yurikuma Arashi). It features Shingo Kaneko (Darker than Black, Fullmetal Alchemist, Slam Dunk) as director, with Yayoi Takano (Endride, Sarazanmai, Uchitama?! Have You Seen My Tama?) handling character designs and also credited as chief animation director, and Yuma Yamaguchi composing the music. The anime features Aoi Yuki (Healin' Good Precure, Kino's Journey - the Beautiful World, My Hero Academia) as main character Kodama as well as almost every other role. The anime’s theme song will be performed by UROMT. The anime will premiere in Japan in January 2022 during the EXITV: FOD no Shinsaku Meisaku wo Pon! Pon! Misemakuri!! variety program on Fuji TV.
