Background

Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World began as a light novel series written by Shachi Sogano and illustrated by Shikidouji that was first serialized online via the user-generated novel publishing site Shosetsuka ni Naro from 2011 to 2019. It was later picked up by Shufunotomo, who have published 12 volumes under the Hero Bunko imprint as of January 2022. The series has over 1.8 million copies in print.

A manga adaptation illustrated by Issei Hyoju began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Shonen Ace manga magazine in April 2017 and has been published in eight collected tankobon volumes under the Kadokawa Comics Ace imprint as of March 2022.

A TV anime adaptation was announced in December 2020. It is being produced by Passione (High School DxD Hero, Interspecies Reviewers, Wasteful Days of High School Girl) and features Naoyuki Tatsuwa (Gourmet Girl Graffiti, The Island of Giant Insects, Nisekoi - False Love) as director and Hiroyoshi Aoyanagi (Eureka Seven - Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers, White Album) as assistant director, with Kurasumi Sunayama (A3! Season Spring & Summer/Fall & Winter, A Certain Scientific Railgun, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere) handling series composition, Makoto Uno (Gravion Zwei, Love Hina Spring Special - I Wish Your Dream, The Qwaser of Stigmata: Portrait of the Empress) handling character designs, and Tomoki Kikuya (Drug Store in Another World - The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist, A Sister's All You Need, Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs) composing the music. The anime’s opening theme song is “Oath” by Shiori Mikami, and the ending theme song is "Shinshi no Torihiki 60-Man Naal" by Taku Yashiro and Miyake. The anime will premiere in Japan in July 2022 and will be streamed overseas through Crunchyroll.
